EMS One Katowice map pool

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has revealed the map pool for EMS One Katowice and its various qualifiers.

All over Europe, online qualifiers are being held to determine which six teams will secure spots in the $250,000 EMS One Katowice tournament, which will take place from March 13th to 16th.

After several teams raised questions about the maps that could be picked, the ESL has issued a statement to remind the players that the map pool is comprised of the four "default" maps (de_dust2, de_inferno, de_nuke and de_train) plus de_mirage.

As you can see, de_cache has surprisingly been left out of the map pool, a decision that has left many players scratching their heads, including AGAiN's Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, who took to Facebook to express his frustration.

"Maps for EMS One Katowice... I dont understand what is wrong with de_cache VALVE?," Wojtas wrote.

map still has some bugs to solve and some few improvements to make. Probably we will start to see it on April or May tournaments if they solve things till then.

well i wouldn´t say crap but there are things that could and should be changed for the better. And unlike many people here i don´t think that the _ce version should be played because its look is outdated and tournaments should use the maps that are provided for the broad playerbase in matchmaking.

Because it lacks high quality shitstuff everywhere. It's sad but that is unfortunately what 90% of the FPS players enjoy, the ones complaining on maps being detailed and trashy are just the professional players while the professionals make out like 0.01% of CS:GO playerbase :/

Dust2 Inferno Mirage Cache Tuscan (a real version, not that bad fake toscan) Best mappool imho. Nuke is too one-sided, Season is not ready (barriers are like walls), Train is train.

lool ? remove nuke? no way man. Even if it's CT-sided, there is no map that is 100% balanced (the map closer to it is de_inferno, and it's still a little CT sided). Epic Matches already happened on nuke, it should be on your list imo.

first of all you need to add 1 map there, because it can't result in a pair number. Second I believe the best train we could get is a mix between volcano's and valve's. I would add season or toscan (both aren't ready but they could be by the end of February probably).

If I were a dev I would: - add de_cache to the maps pool, - do de_tuscan with pro players feedback and add it to the maps pool, - tweak de_train with pro players feedback and it to the maps pool. 2 months is enough for them, but hey why not to do some new shitty skins? by which we can earn more money :) Btw. it's nice to see $250,000 cuz of Valve.

Do they ever learn from their mistakes ? Many viewers, including me, criticized the map pool of DHW and we all saw the joke it was. If it wasn't for the prize pool plus drops (for the greedy people), the tournament would be a fuckin joke. So many big matches but the map was always the same.... I already said it and will say as long as it is needed. 7 or 9 map pool plus some few tweaks to the maps that need them and they wouldn't bother and have problems with the map pool for the rest of their life but no... always the same joke. D2, Inf, Nuke, Train (mix between salvatore's and valve's), mirage (can be valve's if fixed), cache, season, toscan and 1 new map (Can be a remake from a old one, forge e.g or a new one, as long as it isn't made by valve or if it is done by them, at least with pro players help since they have no clue on what they are doing) and every tournament would be competitive and much more enjoyable for the viewer, resulting in more viewers for their tournaments, aka more money for them (because it seems to be all they care about).

I already played on that map but can't really remember much from it. But I guess new maps are always welcomed. If no one bothers to create a new map I would enjoy seeing one of the classic oldschool maps make a return instead of being the MM maps no one plays (only on pubs). De_aztec would be great for me.

it depends on who you are playing against on de_train, two teams at the same level it would be like 10-5 for CTs, if you play some noobs you can make 13 or even 14 rounds in CT I think train's CT is huge CT sided and for sure easier to play in defence than in nuke

Only maps that should be included with the standard 5 is cache & season. Once a ninth map is found and more time is given to toscan, then you can add toscan (for veto purposes).

Actually the main tournament is IEM Katowice but for games like LoL and SC2 EMS decided to make CSGO tournament during this event so its called EMS Katowice, CSGO isn't supported by IEM atm at least

Hello, I was asked yesterday by members of the community to find out why the map pool doesn't include Cache (or other custom maps). I've spoken to our league ops team today and can confirm the map pool will not include Cache. We are using the standard map pool for this event to achieve a seamless experience for all CS:GO players, but we are working with Valve to get more custom maps into the standard map pool in the future. /ReDeYe So we need to wait for official de_cache, cuz Valve don't want not official maps on ESL event. The same is with de_tuscan and other maps like that.

- de_mirage - de_train + de_mirage_ce + de_cache As for everyone commenting on "VALVe don't want non official maps for their competitions" yes but they need to pull their heads out of their asses and smell the roses cause mirage_ce is better than their version no matter how much they update it, same goes with train_ve over their train, the community contributes enough to fund your tournaments through the market and we still don't get a say on what maps we want to spectate/play in, VALVe has forced us to play it even in competitions that have nothing to do with them because no body wants to practice 2 mirages or 2 trains, custom maps should be allowed and there should be a vote for every tournament by the teams and players regardless.
