Wizards win ESEA Intermediate 15

Wizards have been crowned ESEA Intermediate champions following a 2-0 victory over Clan-Mystik.

Over the last few weeks we have seen Wizards grow at a steady pace and post good results on a regular basis, so it was no surprise that the EPS Spain champions were able to reach the ESEA Intermediate grand final after being sent to the Lower Bracket in the semi-finals courtesy of a 16-12 defeat to Clan-Mystik.

At the other end of the spectrum is precisely the French team, who are still trying to bounce back after a string of mixed results. It was only last week that they replaced Jeremy "ioRek" Vuillermet with Gordon "Sf" Giry, who, however, was not registered for this competition.

With Mathieu "MaT" Leber as a stand-in, Clan-Mystik gave a pale account of themselves on de_nuke and were up by just three rounds at the break after playing as CT. The Terrorist side was simply a nightmare for the Frenchmen, who picked up only two rounds as Wizards ran out 16-11 winners to take the decision to de_inferno.

Mathieu "MaT" Leber was then replaced by Jeremy "ioRek" Vuillermet for map two, but CM continued to look way off the pace as Wizards picked up a 10-5 lead after playing on the Terrorist side. The second half went down to the wire, but the Spanish side were able to seal the victory in the very last round to pick up the $1,200 cheque.

Harder then most top 10 teams at the moment and considering the recent results from them, I believe they are a worthy challenger if they continue to work as they do now.

Congratz Wizards. They play all the qualifier very nice. They deserve this so much because they came from lower bracket! GG Mystik too. Kioshima was the only one who was playing fine.
