ESEC 2014 announced
Electronic Sports European Championship 2014 will take place from August until December this year, with the LAN Finals set to be played in Belgrade, Serbia once again.
Denmark defeated France 3-1 in last year's grand final on LAN in Belgrade, Serbia, lifting the first national trophy in CS:GO. The competition is set to return later this year with the qualification process set to start in August, and the LAN Finals to take place in December.

Denmark took the trophy home in 2013
Several LAN Finals participants from France and Denmark gave their statements about last season over at E-Frag.net, one of them being Kenny "kennyS" Schrub who said the following:
"This season's best event in my opinion was with Team France, we went to Serbia for ESEC LAN Finals against Denmark. To be honest I was pretty pessimistic about the success of the LAN because I didn’t know the country and people there. I was wrong, it was an amazing event at an amazing place, I enjoyed it so much!
I can’t forget it mainly the people, the atmosphere while the match was awesome and funny. I’d like once again to thank to organizers because they were very nice with us and we became friends. I think almost everything was perfect!"
In addition to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, there will also be a DotA 2 championship this year and the organizers have released a short trailer for the season:
National representatives can contact the organizers at [email protected] if they have any questions. HLTV.org will keep you posted with all the latest info about ESEC 2014, as well as provide full coverage for every match.
