Cloud9 create CS:GO division

Cloud9 have all but confirmed the signing of compLexity's squad by adding the players to the CS:GO division on their website.

Earlier in the week, Daily Dot reported that compLexity's players were on the verge of completing a move to Cloud9 after growing unhappy with the support they were getting from Jason Lake's organisation.

While coL manager Jason Bass has confirmed that the players will be leaving the organisation they joined in August 2013 following the breakup of Quantic Gaming, Cloud9 have so far stayed silent on the matter.

However, last night Cloud9 dropped a major hint that they are poised to sign the ESEA runners-up after creating a CS:GO section on their website and adding all five coL players to it.

The move is expected to become official during the weekend, as the players' contracts with coL expire on Saturday.

Cloud9's CS:GO division will consist of:

Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert
Sean "⁠seang@res⁠" Gares
Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin
Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen
Mike "⁠shroud⁠" Grzesiek

The team will be making their debut for Cloud9 at the upcoming $250,000 ESL One Cologne, which will run from August 14-17.

Did you miss where they had ESG! for about 2 weeks and then announced they won't try to go back into CSGO for a while? SK is a joke now, certainly a shadow of what it formerly once was.

coL didn't gave the players anything from the money they made out of stickers (f*ing shit right?). that's why they left col in the first place. "col best orga:D"

They have salary so i doubt it, they will all be practicing their individual skills a lot more. They also said they had no motivation at the end of their coL times before ESEA LAN; this will give them some.

I would say it's a definite yes. Cloud9 likes to get their teams to competitions. They're very good in that respect.

I'm happy that Cloud9 is finally getting a CSGO team, but this is NOT how I wanted it to happen. It's a shame compLexity seems to not treat their players well? Because I really liked this team. I've been a coL fan since their formation. I really hope they pick up a new team and quickly. If they pick up a team that's already formed I suspect they would go after LunatiK or JusTus Pro (promising young team with good talent - would be my pick). I know those teams are established, but coL is a very attractive banner to be playing under.

No way! I predict these guys to first get out of groups at esl one cologne where they will beat titan and dignitas in two impressive comebacks, then loose to NiP 2-1 in the quarterfinals but in a very close fashion. Then I predict them to fail at dhw causing hiko to leave, then I predict that they will pick up shahzam who will fuck up badly at esl katowice causing him and semphis to be replaced by skadoodle and freakazoid who will lead them to 3 2nd place finishes but they will still go out in groups at the next 2 majors, and finally I predict that these guys will win ibp cup and seang@res will retire. Let's see if I'm correct.
