New update adds ESL One material

Valve has released a minor update for CS:GO which introduces ESL One Cologne-related sticker capsules and a tournament challenge.

ESL One Cologne will take place from August 14-17, and Valve is already looking to get everyone in the community on board for the upcoming $250,000 major, which will feature 16 teams from all over the world.

In addition to creating the teams' sticker capsules, Valve has also put together an event challenge that will you allow to compete with your friends and score points by guessing the winning teams as the tournament progresses.

I emailed valve yesterday about style 5 and they replied within about an hour of sending it. heres some of the reply: "Thanks for the feedback. I’ll pass it along to the folks who worked on crosshair adjustments. Before we introduced the newest crosshair (cl_crosshairstyle 5, which mimics the 1.6 crosshair behavior), there actually wasn’t a cl_crosshairstyle 5. The convar only supported up to cl_crosshairstyle 4, and if you entered any number 5 or above it would produce an arbitrary combination of crosshair features. The same thing happens now when you use cl_crosshairstyle 6 or above, but that arbitrary combination of crosshair features has changed (and may continue to change) as the game develops. We’re reading everyone’s feedback on crosshairs, so this is all really appreciated. There are some bugs that should be fixed in the next update, but after that you might consider trying cl_crosshairstyle 4 in conjunction with a newly introduced convar, cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 1 (this should result in a static crosshair with a gap that has a different width depending on the weapon you’re holding)."

its a lot different to the old style 5, doesnt look like they'll be able to get the old style 5 back though because its just a mix of other xhair features it wasnt actually a proper setting which i didnt know until they responded

That's the point I imagine. Valve know and have known they can make some money from helping eSports itself, The International made them realise what potential the community has in supporting events. Making TF2 f2p was evidence enough, as they made 400x the amount they would have done from standalone sales. If anything DotA2 & CSGO have to thank the TF2 community for really helping Valve see the potential.
