Virtus.pro see off dAT Team

G3 champions Virtus.pro are through to the Upper final of Group C following a 16-7 win over dAT Team on de_overpass.

The first-ever competitive match on de_overpass was quite entertaining, with many rounds going back and forth in the first half, but in the end it was business as usual, as Virtus.pro picked up the victory, like many had predicted.

The Polish side, who started out on the CT side, won the first two rounds of the match but were caught off guard in the second anti-eco round, when Georgi "⁠WorldEdit⁠" Yaskin got three pistol kills to his name.

Snax: the master of overpass

dAT Team went on to add four more rounds to their tally, with Egor "⁠flamie⁠" Vasilyev proving his doubters wrong with some great kills, but Virtus.pro regained control of the match in the eighth round, when Paweł "⁠byali⁠" Bieliński got a triple kill. The G3 champions went on to turn the score around and were enjoying a 9-6 lead when they switched to the Terrorist side.

In the pistol round, Virtus.pro pushed towards A and traded kills in A-main and green stack, with dAT team falling victim to their opponents' strategy. Andrey "⁠B1ad3⁠" Gorodenskiy still tried to put his side back in the game with a triple kill in the first gun round, but Virtus kept their momentum going and cruised to a 16-7 victory.

Very NT by dAT! ESG! wouldn't even be able to get 7 rnds, they'd lose 3:16 gl dAT vs fnatic or iBUYPOWER in loser's bracket and regardless of the results you're in the right direction! This event is not for you to win or go far, but mostly to get that 1st necessary experience :) gg

Therefore my "lan" reference. I've seen the old mouz team beating NiP online, and not passing the groupstage for 3 tournaments in a row. Online doesnt say much, does it? :)

Online does say much when you're qualifying for arguably the biggest event that cs has ever hosted. Especially bo3. Mouz probably beat NiP during sltv and bo1 where NiP didn't give a shit. So yeah. Edit: "much" wouldn't be the right word, lets say it means something.

Online doesnt say anything about the level the teams could bring to a lan tournament. I didnt said online games have no purpose, of course they do. All i said is that the level some teams present online are nowhere near their level on lan, therefore me saying that ON LAN, ESG! wouldnt lose a bo3 vs dAT

Well on LAN esg got crushed by everyone from day1.. Except maybe when they were SK, when they beat fnatic during groupstage. But that's it. You can't tell anything about a matchup Dat/ESG on LAN.

WEll, I guess I didnt structure it right. I didn't want to point out and say dAT are better ESG!, but still I wanted to just say even getting 7 rnds on the new map for both teams especially knowing the fact it's dAT's 1st event is still good that should basically SHUT everyone's mouths UP who were saying bad stuff bout dAT, so thats the point, gg!

Putting it like that, seems legit :) Was never trying to flame or talk sh!t about dAT, they are a good team, just saying i believe ESG! is more skilled. :P lets hope dAT can give iBP a good fight!
