Ninjas in Pyjamas are through to the ESL One Cologne playoffs following a 16-11 victory over HellRaisers on de_overpass.

NiP have been showing a lot of problems in pistol rounds of late, a trend that continued in this match as HellRaisers came out the brighter, the Ukraine-based side, who started off on the T side, getting three kills early on in construction before moving to secure the B site, with Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev picking up a triple kill.

The two anti-eco rounds that followed also went HR’s way, but once it came to gun play it was NiP’s time to shine: wherever the Ukrainian team went, they always found Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg in their way, and with the Swedish rifler in great form, it is no surprise that NiP got eight rounds on the trot.

A triple kill from Kyrylo "⁠ANGE1⁠" Karasiow then halted NiP’s incredible run, with HR following that up with another round of their own. The final two rounds of the half, however, were won by NiP, who took a 10-5 lead going into the second half.

In the second pistol round, NiP lost a man early on but still held their ground and attacked the B site, where friberg secured yet another triple kill to further enlarge his team’s lead.

The fourth round saw Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg getting a triple kill, which paved the way for NiP to plant the bomb in B, forcing the remaining two HR players to save.

Down by nine rounds and with their economy in shambles, only a miracle could save HR here. The Ukrainian team pegged one back, but they failed to connect that with a second round, which put NiP on the brink of winning the game.

HR found a lifeline when they strung five rounds together to close the gap to just four rounds, but a B push from NiP sealed a 16-11 victory for the Swdes, with friberg, the man of the match, deservedly getting the final kill of the match.
