Playoffs drawn for ESL One

The playoff bracket has been drawn for ESL One Cologne 2014. Quarter-finals will all take place tomorow, starting 09:00 .

After two days of action in Cologne, eight teams will remain in competition for the $100,000 grand prize once the final group stage match between Titan and dignitas finishes.

Each group had an upset happen with the underdogs finishing on top, effectively keeping the bracket draw the same in the sense that match-ups remain unaltered by the upsets.

fnatic bested iBUYPOWER and Virtus.pro to take on Na`Vi, who barely escaped by Copenhagen Wolves after suffering a loss to LDLC, and taking out the Wolves earlier.

Playoffs will begin on this stage tomorrow morning

Epsilon surprised everyone by beating HR and NiP, and will now get to face the winner in today's final game, where dignitas, fresh off a C9 loss, will take on French Titan.

Group B's top place finishers LDLC, who beat LC and Na`Vi earlier, will take on Virtus.pro, who lost to fnatic on de_overpass but knocked iBUYPOWER out of ESL One.

Finally Cloud9, who overcame 10-15 and 10-14 deficits to beat Titan and dignitas, have to go through NiP, whom they bested at ESEA Finals in June, if they wish to make top four.

i think groups were divided into first seed finishers and second seed finishers and then randomly drawed

coL played NiP at ESWC 2012, but not at DHW, where they were knocked out by fnatic instead. if you go far enough in tournaments, odds are you will eventually face NiP.

the qfinals wasnt randomly drawn, Group A 1st Epsilon vs Group D 2nd Dignitas Group A 2nd NiP vs Group D 1st Cloud9 same goes for other 2 groups. if it was randomly drawn it is quite a coincidence.
