dignitas eliminate Epsilon

dignitas have beaten Epsilon 2-0 (16-9 on de_dust2, 16-8 on de_inferno) to progress to the semi-finals at ESL One Cologne 2014.

dignitas, starting on their preferred CT side, sought to open strong on de_dust2 with a definitive pistol round win, but Epsilon quickly rallied, answering back with three consecutive rounds to take an early lead. Once they were able to buy, however, dignitas established a strong defence, and began to slowly wear down the French side, surrendering only one more round to win the half 11-4.

At the start of the second half, Epsilon looked to recompose themselves, taking the first two rounds with a more aggressive stance on the CT side. Unfortunately, that agression was swiftly punished by Philip "aizy" Aistrup, who caught two Epsilon players off-guard in upper B to open up the site and turn the tide of the map back in the favour of the Danes.

Despite the best efforts of Richard "shox" Papillon, the French team managed to win only a few more rounds, and dignitas took map one 16-9.

Determined not to play de_overpass, Christensen led his team to a 1-0 lead

Clearly shaken by their loss on their chosen map, Epsilon dropped the first eight rounds on map two, de_inferno, in spite of being on the favoured CT side. The French team enventually picked up a round, but that was all that dignitas would allow them; the Danes went on to close out the first half 14-1.

In the second half, Epsilon appeared to make a comeback. They won the first six rounds, but the Danish squad were just biding their time. With only two rounds between them and victory, and the round loss bonus in full effect, dignitas were able to buy up and clinch the win, taking their map 16-8, and making a clean sweep of the best-of-three series.

Says a lot about how good this tournament has been when a stomp like this is so rare. The games of the past few days have been amazing.

Why would they? They are playing in possibly the biggest CS tournament ever, I think they are thinking more about winning, than satisfying HLTV kids.

I don't care about Dignitas winning the whole tournament - as long as they DON'T lose the semi-final tomorrow :) A semifinal in major events is the ultimate raidboss for Dignitas!
