FACEIT Open qualifiers over

The closed qualifier for FACEIT League 2's European division will kick off on Monday, with 12 teams in contention.

The last two open qualifiers came to an end last weekend, with the new PENTA Sports roster and Finnish mix team TMVG, featuring the likes of Joel "⁠jOELZ⁠" Aalto and Taneli "⁠disturbed⁠" Veikkola among those who made it through.

The top two teams from each of the four open qualifiers will now be joined by four invited teams, Epsilon, HellRaisers, mousesports and CPH Wolves, in the closed qualifier, which will run from Monday to Tuesday.

The finalists of this closed qualifier, in which the invited teams will receive a BYE in the first round, will then qualify for FACE IT League's European division.

Awesome to see Face IT no longer tying up valuable operating income on 1000-viewer borefests that inadvertently end as Cypher-Evil finals (TY FOR 4SKINS, QL FANBOYZ XOXOXO)*, and exponentially growing the prize pot from 20k last season to 50k, as well as making this season an inter-continental competition. Am watching with much interest. * By that I mean it's nice to see DDK reach an audience and develop a fanbase amount that couldn't be imagined over on deathmatch scene, in 2014. My take on the event: Stats exist for a reason, and 2/4 of the invited top4 to qualify. Three HR members (markeloff included) were stuck in Germany for an extra week because of a bag with their passports being stolen, so they might be out of practice and might lose to a qualified teams, apart from that EPSI and CPH or mouz ggnore.
