ALTERNATE win ESWC.fe qualifier

Team Alternate have qualified for the ESWC finals after beating PENTA Sports 2-1 in the grand final of the Western Europe qualifier.

Six teams took part in the third and last European female qualifier hosted by ESEA, with one spot at the upcoming world finals in Paris up for grabs.

Fresh off a double roster change, with Laure "⁠CeleN⁠" Denivelle and Olga "Knopk@" Khoroshilova replacing Lena "⁠shushu⁠" Babic and Marlies "kätzchen" Schneider, ALTERNATE had direct entry into the semi-finals, where they beat Reason Gaming 2-1 to progress to the grand final.

The other team to make it to the tournament decider also hailed from Germany: PENTA Sports, who beat Spanish side NocturnalGC Diamond and Portuguese team MAYDAY!, both with 2-0 scorelines.

ALTERNATE got off to a flying start in the grand final and eased past their opponents on the first map, de_nuke, with a 16-1 scoreline. PENTA then picked themselves up and equalised the series with a 16-13 victory on de_inferno, but Kathleen "⁠kathi⁠" Letsch's side were the stronger of the two on de_season and walked always with a 16-10 win on the final map.
