ESWC list almost complete

With the ESWC finals just around the corner, there are only four spots up for grabs in the $50,000 competition.

In the last few days there were several qualifiers taking place all over the world as we closer and closer to the highly-anticipated ESWC finals, which will be held from October 30 to November 2, in Paris.

3DMAX, GPlay and mousesports all broke into the top three in the European online qualifier. k1ck and AlienTech both qualified from the Portuguese national finals, while London Conspiracy topped the Norwegian qualifier, which took place at ByLAN.

prb's London Conspiracy won ESWC Norway

There were also two qualifiers taking place in Asia, one in China, the other in India, which were topped by Pow and Virtual Impact, respectively.

Below you can find the list with the teams that have already qualified and with the qualifiers that have not yet taken place:

Bit of both. There'll most likely be quite a few stomps, but at the same time we'll see some teams from the parts of the world, that usually doesn't come around to compete. But yea, I prefer the tournaments where the spots are filled by top teams rather than this.

I'd rather see some of these interesting up-and-coming teams like dAT or even myXMG than some of these teams. That's not the point though. They could make a tournament with 128 teams for that matter, but we'd end up with a lot of uninteresting matches until there's approximately 16 teams left anyway.

making the turnament international is definitely better than only top eu and 2 usa teams. Besides that we have 0 clue on what level some of those teams actualy are. if you wish to be called a top team you have to win on turnaments like this.

Well, as i said above, only 1 CIS team is on ESWC list for now. So, its kinda reasonable to SLTV give to CIS team slot. :P

This tournament isn't about getting as many top teams to play eachother. It's to give unknown teams a chance to play some top teams, and if they do very well, they may get a qualifier for other big tournaments.

Doesn't look like myXMG is attending. Though on LAN and with the stability of the team intact I would not have ruled them out of any contention and they look just as strong as a CPHW mix team. Now you got only a few real teams; Cursive and All In (Refuse; Lomme, EXR, smF, glace and Inzta) attending and a bunch of mixteams with FLÆKKETID being the most profiled one. FLÆKKETID is coloN, percy, crzy, tabac0 and zeeth. I would not count out any of the other "teams" just yet, since CPHW is just a mixteam.

Pimp is still looking like the strongest danish player, if you don't count dignitas players, from recent matches. I don't think CPH wolves will have a big problem, however, I do not like their roster change. I can't see kjaerbye being a + instead of neither nico or cajunb, even though nico has been playing badly. Cadian could be + from nico since nico has been playing badly, gla1ve has been better as secondary awper than he has as main awper. btw do you know if nosir will attend?

Pimp was nothing near his own level at Dreamhack Sthlm though and he had a negative affect on the team with his demoralising attitude. No doubt a Pimp in form is one of the better danish players. Its impossible for another dane to replace cajun, his experience is just too damn important, but Kjaerbye is an exciting "new" player, though we have a lot of those, that never really get anywhere. I can't say if NoSir! is attending, they only have three members on the participant list, and with the loss of kjaerbye they will be just another mixteam if they do attend. CPH is still the better team, but not by so much as to one can say that they will win the event. It will be a struggle for anyone of the teams to win.
