LDLC beat Cloud9 a second time

LDLC won their second match against Cloud9 at the FACEIT Finals, this time a 16-11 success on de_dust2.

After a one-sided match on de_inferno, LDLC's pick, both teams moved on to de_dust2, Cloud9's map choice, with the North American side coming into the game knowing that anything other than a win could put their chances of reaching the playoffs in jeopardy.

Cloud9, who started out on the Terrorist side, did a short-long split in the pistol round with great success, wich much thanks going to Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen, who picked up four kills. After suffering a few scares in the first anti-eco round, Cloud9 fell short in the third round, with LDLC running riot as they took a staggering seven rounds in a row.

shroud's ace was a turning point in the match

An impressive ace from Mike "shroud" Grzesiek in A finally broke LDLC's momentum, with Spencer "Hiko" Martin getting an ace of his own, this time in B, just two rounds later. It was thanks to such strong individual performances from their players that Cloud9 managed to counter LDLC's strong teamplay and go into half-time down by just one round.

In the second half, a triple kill from SEMPHIS in long paved the way for his team to win the pistol round, but Cloud9 fell victim to LDLC's CZ and armor buy in the following round.

LDLC continued in the driving seat and edged closer to victory as time went on. A 1-on-2 clutch from Sean "seang@res" Gares at 9-14 gave the North American side a lifeline, but the French side never took their foot off the pedal, so it was with little surprise that they secured a 16-11 victory, with Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey getting a stunning a ace towards the end of the match.

It's hilarious how people are bashing on C9 as if they have lost to a bottom tier team. At this point LDLC might as well be the number 1 team in the whole world. People keep ignoring that and jump on the bandwagon of NA hate, which is in fact quite ridiculous. C9 had slim chance of winning this match to begin with, in my opinion they performed well considering who they were up against. Hope they can show up for their next match.
