Denial Esports member Nick "nitr0" Cannella is poised to join iBUYPOWER, Damien "daps" Steele has revealed.

iBUYPOWER are currently in the process of revamping their squad after parting ways with Lucas "⁠steel⁠" Lopes and Sam "⁠DaZeD⁠" Marine in the aftermath of the team's two-week stay in Europe for FACEIT and ESWC as they look ahead to DreamHack Winter.

Derek "⁠desi⁠" Branchen, a former member of Manajuma and Exertus, has been brought in as a stand-in for the Swedish major, and Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella is seemingly the one who will complete the roster, according to a Tweet from Denial's Damian "⁠daps⁠" Steele.

nitr0, formerly of Area51, joined Denial only last month and helped the team to win FACEIT's John Wick CS:GO Invitational by beating MouseSpaz 2-0 in the grand final. He left Denial's ESEA roster earlier today, which indicates that a move to iBP is close at hand.

If confirmed, the North American giants will attend DreamHack Winter with:

Highly doubt that. Performing online in NA isn´t the same thing as being on, for times, the 3rd best team in Sweden and just outside top 10 in Europe. And not the same thing as stomping solo at Copenhagen Games like Eksem (Maikel) did! Don´t know why you bring up Skytten, KRIMZ would be much better example for the argument you´re trying to make, a argument that isn´t valid though. It took the IBP/Curse players (-swag) like 1½-2 years to really have an impact on European soil, IBP will probably fail miserably at DH, if not they will only win some matches because they couldn´t be anti-strated properly and swag/skadoodle goes mental+the newcomers performs way better than anyone can really expect from them on their first major. I find that highly unlikely :/ IBP just had their best performance in Europe by a far margain, too bad they went full retard...

The problem with outstrating iBP will be the fact that they won't have any proper tactics except for the basics before DHW. It should be quite easy for the top teams to play their T sides, iBP will most likely be super lost on their rotations and unsure of each other's locations. I wouldn't be surprised to see them coming last in their table (ofc considering they'll not face off against a non-eu/na team)

the difference between c9 and ibp at the moment is that ibp is missing out an igl who can outsmart euros while c9 has both seangares and semphis who can call decently well. Azk imo never led team before and he isnt really experienced as an igl. Ibp just replaced two members when dh is in slightly less than 3 weeks. And they dont have an established caller. This is a bad sign and they will fail in dh.

desi is a real up-and comer. super skilled, but he was being held back by playing with the elevate/manajumas guys recently. he reminds me quite a bit of shroud but obviously without the hype that shroud had coming into c9 because of his stream numbers i know less about nitr0 but what i've seen from him, he doesn't seem like a super skilled guy that goes nuts but rather someone who is consistent and will be a sufficient role player. he's also pretty young so he has room to grow

I've played against nitr0, desi, steel and DaZeD. The skill gap between the latter two and the former two are incomparable. There's a reason steel was considered one of the best riflers and DaZeD as the #1 player in the NA before both joined IBUYPOWER. Just because they don't put up monster stats all the time on a stacked team doesn't mean they aren't amazing players.

Everyone talking shit about this lineup. It's not that bad of a lineup. Just because people call Skadoodle and swag quiet people doesn't mean they don't communicate well with the right set of guys. swag was the one that invited desi and I've played with nitr0 before and hes a really chill guy. This lineup can be good if one of them picks up on the support role. Spreading the talent pool in america/canada might be the best thing that has happened over here. Now that we have three cliques here we might finally see more than 2 teams that are good.

nitr0 will play "support" - nobody is disputing they are two "okay" players, maybe desi is close to steel's level, but nitr0 is the equivalent of Barcelona selling Xavi in his prime and replacing him with Eric Djemba Djemba.

nitr0 is extremely, extremely average & desi is hit or miss, he's either sick or absolutely dogshit. AZK as a leader is capable of about a 5th of what DaZeD was. This lineup will be lucky to beat the lowest seeds in group stages.

desi > steel in terms of fragging power. he lacks the experience and game sense, though, those things come with time. dazed > nitr0 in literally every aspect. he has superior aim, game sense, strat calling, motivaton, etc. dazed got kicked because he was too good at being a team leader. it's clear that swag and ska want someone who will keep their mouth shut and not bitch at them for their lack of communication. it only makes sense to bring in new players, who wont bitch at them because their spot on iBP would be at risk. sad stuff. RIP iBP.

desi > steel in raw talent, but he doesn't have international lan experience. Removing dazed was moronic. Besides azk they really have no veteran leadership now. What is nitr0 18/19 years old? If things go bad I could see this team falling apart quickly.
