WCG 2008 Rules released

The rules for this year’s World Cyber Games have been released. They are extremely similar to last year’s rules; however there have been a few significant changes.

WCG have addressed the silent running debate and come out with their own rules on the matter. The first rule says that you can use the "Duck Move" as long as it is not bound to the mouse wheel. The second part of their move on the matter was to remove the rule relating to Duck Moving to allow the above change.

The second significant change is that only one coach will be permitted per team, and that only during freezetime will player coach interaction be allowed.

To summarise:

• Added Rule: ‘Duck’ cannot be specified up with Mouse Wheel.
  
• Added Rule: Only one coach will be permitted per team. Only during “Freezetime” coach and player interaction be allowed.
  
• Deleted Rule: Duck Moving

The ruleset can be found on the WCG website. The finals take place in November of this year in Cologne, Germany.
