SLTV StarSeries XII with $50,000

SLTV StarSeries Season XII has been announced with prizemoney boosted to $50,000 and number of LAN final teams taking place on February 20-22 upped to six.

The twelveth season features a significant boost in prizemoney, from $35,000 in the previous season - including $2,000 for each LAN final team in travel support - to a total of $50,000.

Also, for the first time in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the Season XII LAN finals in CyberArena, Kiev, will have six teams attending instead of the usual four. All six teams will also get an additional $2,000 in travel support as per the previous seasons.

We can see that the organizers updated the map pool, with Cobblestone replacing Season:

Because of that the system has been tweaked. Sixteen teams will be divided into two groups, from where the top two teams will qualify for the LAN finals, while the third and fourth placed teams will battle for the last two spots in playoffs.

Season XIV: July 3-5

I think as valve pours more money into majors, we will see leagues like sltv and esea become training grounds for tier 2 and 3 teams while the tier 1s increasingly pull out to focus on major prep. Which is a good thing, I think, allows new talent and orgs to get into the top level of competition

cobblestone right now official Valve's map, and all teams prefer to play it, than pracc some map, which they need to play on 1-2 tournaments.

i get your point, but cbble is so freaking boring, the map would be good if we played 10v10 not for 5v5 comp. what if you just remove cbble? i know veto would be messed up a little but you could seed the teams and the one with the higher seed gets to veto 2 maps, while the lower seed removes 1 or smth like that (i just hate cbble :D)

Could be good to stop inviting Epsilon to event when they don't even have a team. Fxyo is out, sf is VAC and a third will most likely go to Titan.

Damn this is so awesome. Even medium-sized tournaments are able to provide travel support to teams now. Btw, should be $12,000 for travel support, not $8000 (first paragraph). Six teams, $2000 each.
