Format for CPH Games revealed
The organisers of Copenhagen Games have unveiled all the details about the tournament format that will be used in the CS:GO tournament.
As HLTV.org revealed last week, the 2015 edition of Copenhagen Games - one of Denmark's biggest gaming events - will feature two CS:GO tournaments, whose prizes should be similar to those handed out last year.
Running from April 2 to 4, CPH Games' Fona CS:GO tournament will kick off with an open GSL group stage featuring 64 teams, who will be drawn into 16 groups.
The top two sides from each group will then progress to a second group stage, which will also use a GSL system. The group winners and the second-placed sides will then advance to the main tournament, in which they will be joined by 16 teams invited by the organisation.
The final 32 participants will be drawn into eight groups of four teams, who will face each other in a GSL stage. The top two teams from each group will secure places in the playoffs, which will use a double-elimination, best-of-three format.
