ex-iBP withdraw from MLG Aspen

MLG have announced that the former iBUYPOWER team has withdrawn from MLG X Games Aspen two days prior to its kick-off, the organizers are now looking into replacements.

Only two days prior to MLG X Games Aspen, ex-iBUYPOWER have decided to withdraw from the $50,000 tournament in Colorado, featuring teams such as fnatic, LDLC and NiP.

While none of the players commented on the matter in detail, it is suspected that this move is connected to the match-fixing scandal, which the team has been involved in.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, the only player confirming the withdrawal is Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin, who mentioned on his Twitter that more details will come out "in the near future".

ex-iBUYPOWER were drawn to fnatic, LDLC and CLG in group B, which means the replacement will likely end up pitted against two world's best teams the day after tomorrow.

Yeah, but this doesn't seem to be a punishment by MLG or any other organization, but rather their presumed sponsor pulling out as a result of the matchfixing. Steel's Torqued is allowed to go, despite Steel being implicated in the scandal, because Torqued is essentially Steel. Shitty situation all around.
