Maikelele leaves NiP - Report

Mikail "Maikelele" Bill is on his way out of Ninjas in Pyjamas, according to a report from fragbite.se.

Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill joined NiP in November on trial as a replacement for Robin "⁠Fifflaren⁠" Johansson and helped the team to a runners-up finish at his first event, DreamHack Winter.

He was then handed a permanent spot by NiP, who still fell at the last hurdle at MLG X Games Aspen as the team once again finished runners-up to LDLC.

Success finally came NiP's way at the end of January as the team clinched the ASUS ROG Winter title against Titan, even though it hardly came as a consolation prize, given the lack of top-flight teams in attendance.

Things took a turn for the worse for NiP last weekend as they cut a frustrating figure at IOS Pantamera, where they finished next-to-last in the round robin group stage, with just one victory from five matches.

Maikelele's time in NiP seems to be over

On Wednesday, Maikelele revealed that he would be stepping in for Orbit at this weekend's Nordic Masters event, which fueled suggestions that the Swedish AWPer could be leaving NiP, who have a double StarSeries header against HellRaisers and EnVyUs on Sunday.

With Maikelele putting in big numbers and having been named the MVP of ASUS ROG, it seems that it was the player's attitude - which had already cost him his place in UnWanted - that made the team cut ties with him.

Contacted by HLTV.org, NiP declined to comment on the report. If it turns out to be true, it means that NiP are down to the following four players just one month before ESL One Katowice:

Pretty sure that there new player will be eksem, he said on his stream 2 days ago that he already talked with the owners of NiP the last time when they went for maikelele. eksem is a god like sniper, he owned flusha,JW and Olof at the same time in a game that same night. Yeah sure. But the way that they convey rumours, is that they don't bring up the fact that they are rumours in anywhere in the text, but give a slight hint only in the end. If you cba to translate the original source from swedish to your language, it pretty much looks like a confirmed thing. Even though as a History student I agree with you, you cant deny the fact that journalism has often revolved around rumors and "false facts". In the Netherlands our news stations often use images and stories which they get from CNN without checking if theyre actually true. You can take the Isreal Palestina conflict as an example. Maikelele is what NiP just needs. If they fire him or let him go it would be a very bad move for the team. NiP sucked cause Fifflaren couldn't awp properly, but Maik is perfect for the job. Every team has a bad run and they should be considering the fact that those 3 losses that cost them DHW14, Pantamera and the other tournament have been against EnvyUs a.k.a. Top 1 in the world at the moment (regardless of the losses to Fnatic). I would say that at the moment the top 3 are EnvyUs, NiP and fnatic. Do not part ways with Maikelele or you will regret it. There is no a better awper than Maik for the job at Sweden (I'm not sure if Twist fits at NiP).
