Today we are launching a big update to our stats section by introducing new filtering options.

Till now all stats in the stats section have been totalling all matches on record, or filtered by a single event, leaving no options for detailed analysis of the ups and downs in time periods outside of single events. To make the data easier to analyze and interpid, we have now created a set of pre-defined filters, but in the future customizable filters may also be possible.

The first filters we are launching are:

2012

2013

2014

2015

Only majors

Past 3 months

These filters, when applied, will filter the entire stats section e.g. the top lists, maps played, weapons used and so on, leaving it easy to figure out the shifting changes as maps are updated, guns are changed and the game evolves.

We are also working on a few more filters that will launch later, currently we have the following on the drawing board:

Online matches only

LAN matches only

Big matches only (quarter-final and up)

The performance of the stats section should also be greatly improved, meaning pages should load much faster. The 1.6 stats section has been disabled because of this update, but as soon as we believe the new filters are working as intended, we aim to bring back the historical 1.6 statistics, so do not worry, the data is not gone.

Any suggestions for other pre-defined filters are welcome, and please report any bugs you may find, so we can get them squashed as fast as possible.

That is a really cool feature. Really good job. By the way just wanted to ask why some online leagues haven't been updated for a long time? (99dmg masters, starladder XII, FPL league, GameShow etc)

What about all the missing stats? e.g. SLTV, ESEA...

We cannot always get the data, we provide stats for all the matches where we have, but we are constantly working on new ways of extracting the data we need.

Try applying the new filters, then only active teams show up, but yes, for the global stats I plan to add a feature that can filter out teams and players that have not played a match in X months.

I like it, shows how much stats really don't mean. When you look at the top team in each major compared to who won it. Or that VP are above NiP in majors despite overall placing worse.

I love stat section since i know hltv. But with the change beetween 1.6 and GO,the stat section go a level down. I hope more improvements to the stat section soon.

Seems nice, gj guys. One big thing to upgrade -> cooperate with leagues so every decent online match stats are here. We are missing too much - especially from NA leagues.

A question(may well become feedback) When a team loses the organisation or changes its team name for any reason,Are the team stats transferred to the new team ? I mean the team winning % etc ?

The answer is it depends, but mostly, no, a new team is created, and no stats are transferred.

Could this be done ? Because for example,LDLC team left the org,and got a new org named EnvyUS And a new LDLC lineup is formed which has the stats of the previous lineup,the result people draw could be misleading,thinking it is of current LDLC(i know they will see the names of players,but still)

Any plans in replacing m4a1 by m4a4? I know the mistake comes from the game itself, but that can be easily fixed on your side, but you keep the issue anyway. Also, I don't know if that's because your worry about IE, but moving onto a JS/SVG version of your charts would be a nice improvement in my opinion. There are many nice and free JS libs available giving pretty and highly customizable charts. Flash is getting more deprecated everyday. NB: I'm surprised it took so long to propose so basic filters. Don't know if it comes from a very bad database design, lazyness or if you don't even thought about it, but that's very very basic (boolean or date check, assuming that the fields are available, otherwise it might take a couple more hours to add them).

I think calling it a few hours to change it, while also having it perform, is a little over optimistic, but yes it should have been done sooner, but I took the chance to make a proper backend for future filters, while having proper performance. So a big part of this update was to rework much of the backend representation of the data. Well, m4a1 or m4a4, I think most are able to abstract away from this, but who knows, maybe I'll translate them all at some point... I'll look into some other chart framework, it isn't a great priority, but I have wanted to move to JS for quite a while as well.

I appreciate that you answered, and that you did it seriously and professionally (not like some others Finn htlv reporters =°). I don't know how the database is managed, but adding and updating a field for majors and lan events isn't a big deal (for years, you already have the dates). And I believe the list of majors and LANs has already been done for the Top 20 Players, you just need to generate a couple requests for each of the IDs. But if you've done something wider, I understand it was more time consuming. But still (and I don't blame you particularly), for an almost official platform having the more data/stats about CS:GO in the world, I still think it's a waste to still propose so limited data (and not sharing them). For the m4a1 and m4a4, it's not about users being able or not to figure this out, it's about giving correct information. And considering the price for it is ridiculously small, that's not really acceptable.
