PENTA complete CCS list

PENTA Sports have qualified for the CCS Kick-off Season after beating AliGon 3-0 in the grand final of the closed qualifier #2.

After FlipSid3 Tactics booked their place in the CCS league via the first closed qualifier by beating HellRaisers 3-1 in the grand final, only one spot in the prestigious $110,000 championship hosted by PGL remained up for grabs.

There were quite a few surprises along the way - the first of which being 3DMAX, who will be in action at ESL One Katowice later this week, stumbling at the first hurdle following a 0-2 defeat against Copenhagen Wolves in the opening round.

dignitas, who had been touted as favourites to reach the final of the qualifier, were surprised in the semi-finals by Swedish mix team AliGon, featuring players like Marcus "Delpan" Larsson, Jerry "xelos" Råberg and Gustav "KAB0M" Runemalm.

PENTA qualify for CCS league

PENTA Sports, who recently picked up Tobias "Troubley" Tabbert, reached the tournament decider after edging past German rivals myKPV 2-1 and beating CPH Wolves by a 2-0 scoreline.

The grand final used a best-of-five format, and even though all the maps were very close, PENTA Sports' experience and teamplay always prevailed as they ran out 3-0 victors following 16-12 victories on de_cache and de_inferno and a 16-13 win on de_dust2.

Its pretty cool to watch as they play very aggresive and lot of gambles (which work most of the time, good read). At least thats my opinion. Very risky style but its cool to watch

The main part of this tournament is going to be played online, with the finalists locking horns at the Dreamhack Bucharest LAN in April. Kinda hard for NA vs EU online match-ups to be playable and enjoyable, don't you think?

Well yea, I agree with you. I don't know the reasons behind the org's decision in not making a qualifier of some sort for NA teams, too.

You're actually right. Despite Penta being the best team in Germany they're still so bad that if you lose 0-3 to them even if every map is 21-19, you're bad.

pretty close to that, at least. Titan should arguably be in there. I'd say they are still above flipside and slightly above penta's level.
