Here's CLG's Peter "ptr" Gurney talking about the team's journey through ESL One Katowice, which saw them exit the group stage with two losses and a win.

CLG opened ESL One Katowice up with a comeback against HellRaisers for a narrow 16-14 win on Nuke. A defeat coming from NiP followed on Mirage, as well as a thrashing by Keyd Stars on Dust2.

The team's AWPer provided us with his insight on why they lost the two maps. He also touched on the subject of the North American scene, especially on the teams' attitude towards specific roles.

We still have LGB's Pål "⁠Polly⁠" Kammen lined up on the list of video interviews and we will try to catch up with Virtus.pro's Jarosław "⁠pashaBiceps⁠" Jarząbkowski to talk about their quarter-final against the Brazilians.

The problem with ptrs round by round philosophy is his team has players like fns so you've already hit an impassable brick wall. I don't think this lineup as it currently stands will ever achieve anything of note unfortunately.

The real problem isn't any one player on their team, it's experience & communication. FNS is abit streaky admittedly, but he goes bigger than anyone on the team in clutch situations and he will topfrag every 3-4 game. Yes, he will occasionally also go 0,5 k/d and bottomfrag, but so will the rest of them, including tarik. As far as achievements goes they've allready beaten the reigning champion of the last major and 2 other top 10 teams on LAN.

You said it Ptr! To much ego and salt in the NA scene and not enough comradery. The talent is there, but everyone is to good to band together to make the NA scene better. Keyd became better playing and learning from the top tier NA teams, why can't the NA teams help make each other better? Hopefully that changes and a few top NA teams emerge.

And hes absolutely right. CS died a long time ago in NA. ESEA killed competitive cs in NA. Most kids here wanted a high fpr, not a good team. A lot of false egos as well. It used to be; you were good if you placed at a few lan tournaments. Then the scene changed drastically. Individual stats became paramount. And lan centers started dying off because the new generation of gamer refused to play in person. For whatever reason. I dont blame the old guard for not wanting to play with the current generation of gamers. The new generation of gamers in NA, are toxic as fuck. Obviously there are outliers. But the gamers today are awful trolls.

a huge example is team PAndemic if you remember them (masternook, sonNy, ph33r, daffsta and grt), team eMazing Gaming (evolution, steno, che, lim and phobius). these 2 american teams rose to fame during cgs era where the 2 best US teams(coL and 3D) moved to css. They had the perfect chance and the skill to rebuilt american scene which was dominant until 2006 but they failed because of egos and shit!

A team like Elevate did the right thing and took in two youngsters while the core had loads of experience, more teams from NA should do that too it's a win win situation and you can have less players wasting their talents, because their tactical aspect of the game is non-existent

I agree more international tournaments/exposure are the way to go outside of just the majors, but gaining that exposure and using it to grow the NA scene seems like another option. Ptr said it best, it's hard to get 5 guys in the NA scene with a common goal of being a complete team. There are a ton of great aimers, but few great teams in the NA currently due to ego's getting in the way.

I think c9 need to -shahzam and -semphis. Semphis is toxic as fuck after listening to him on coms. +Skadoodle would obviously be amazing but I have a feeling he is waiting to make a team with Hiko. Who would replace semphis? I honestly don't know. I could name people off who should but would they actually join? Who knows.

Yea, lets move somewhere across the world. With a lower grade of life. To marginally improve at a video game they casually play. NA CS will never be on top and it shouldnt ever be. It should stay a hobby. There is no career in cs. Dont take offense to this. But there are more important things to do, than play cs here in the states.

Its hard to carry zqk! He is meant to be the main awper from keyd and i havent seen that awp working, it only worked when it was on fallen's hands! Btw, zqk cant kill with rifles as well! So... Why is this guy on the team? He doesnt fit in any role! Bring back hen1! Hahaha

technically he only said "they outplayed us". the presence of [..] in a quote shows that parts of the quote were replaced with what was implied by the speaker.
