EnVyUs win StarSeries XII

EnVyUs are beginning to brew up something of a winner's streak in offline events, taking first place at StarSeries XII finals over NiP after their victory last weekend in similar fashion at Gfinity Spring Masters I.

In a game which nearly mirrored the easily won upper bracket final yesterday, today's grand final was EnVyUs' time to make a statement about their dominanace in the CS:GO scene. EnVyUs cruised to a two map victory over NiP today, technically winning 3-0 due to the best-of-five nature of the grand final.

nV garner two events in a row

With major winners fnatic absent from the past two weekends' offline events, the Frenchmen still faced a tough assortment of teams to defeat in order to walk away with the first place prize of $18,000.

On de_inferno, the Swedish-Finnish Ninjas managed to post up a respectable 9:6 scoreline after starting CT, but they were promptly annihilated by nV's dominant CT half in which the Frenchmen went up ten straight rounds to win the first map.

EnVyUs' leader Happy continues to dominate the server at offline events

de_mirage was even less of a contest than the first map as nV streaked up a 13:2 CT side with great play from Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer and Edouard "⁠SmithZz⁠" Dubourdeaux in particular, and then closed out the map with ease after winning T pistol.

The Ninjas ran into a French Counter-Strike Maginot Line versus nV's CT side

After all is said and done, and the curtains come down here in Kiev at the CyberSport Arena, the final standings and prize money distribution are:

I know they lost all 8 pistol rounds vs EnVyUs at the Gfinity final, and they lost all 4 pistol rounds vs EnVyUs in the winners bracket final, but they did win the first pistol on inferno in the grand final. So they lost at least 12 pistol rounds in a row against EnVyUs...

Well, disappointing final. I wonder what's keeping NiP from performing against nV. And I share Thoorin's opinion when he says that nV and fnatic should both run their season on their side and then meet at the grand final of the next major. Then if we get there I hope for either a Bo3 in OT on the three maps, or a Bo5 3-2 or 2-3 with the last map on OT. Would be the most glorious match in CS:GO's history if it ever went out that way.

Yea Navi and flamie did really put up a good fight vs nV. So close to go 2-0 against them. Unfortunately they couldn't close out the game, and had nothing to offer on nuke.

I cross my fingers for navi can reach a new level with flamie. We need more teams to compete with fnatic and nV. The more great counter strike the better. Too boring with the same teams dominating in the top. A lot of teams has the "potential" but if they reach it, very difficult indeed vs such strong opponents.

Very disappointing to see NIP coming up that short. nV has an incredible strong start in 2015. Fnatic have sucked online. So it is very difficult to know who the best team is at the moment. But I am looking forward to find out.

? That's the same LEAGUE, sure. It doesn't change the facts that the groups were played ONLINE, which means that they weren't part of the event. Only the playoffs were played on LAN. Until guns like CZ tec9 and other crap shits where u can run without any penalty and give hs's for no money and no real skill this is what you are going to get. Until the game doesn't allow wall-banging , removing some stupid boxes the 6corners that you can get killed and having a chance to cover only 2 at a time this is what you are going to get. You're pretty newscool aren't you? Have youe ever heard of such tournaments as CPL? Was the biggest CS event back in the days, as majors are now. They used double-elimination bracket format and team coming from the winners bracket always had 1 map advantage in finals. And guess what, there were teams who came from the lower bracket to win the whole thing and noone complained it's unfair. If you haven't lost a single game throughout the whole tournament having a one map advantage seems pretty fair to me.
