ESL UK Premiership set to start

The ESL UK Premiership will kick off on Monday, with eight teams squaring off for £6,000 (approximately $9,000).

The CS:GO scene in the United Kingdom has not had a stable team capable of mounting a serious challenge in events abroad for a while now, something that the ESL is hoping to change with this new league.

The ESL UK Premiership will kick off with a double-elimination group stage in which every match will be played in a best-of-three format.

RattlesnK's XENEX face exceL in the first round of the group stage

The top two sides from each group will progress to the offline finals, scheduled for May 22-24 inside London's MCM Comic Con, which will feature its own Esports arena, built in the image of an ESL Major event.

A total of £5,000 will be up for grabs at the season finals, with an additional £1,000 being spread across the group and qualifying stages of the tournament.

fm! are better than Kick! and MyXMG, so not exactly a top team internationally, but better than the low end of EU. Not sure if Kick and XMG qualify as tier 10000 or not.
