Seeding for ESWC Masters

Seven days from now, the ESWC Masters will kick off in Paris, with twenty teams fighting for three spots to the ESWC grand finals later this year.

The ESWC Masters is an extra chance for teams to qualify for the ESWC grand finals, but will also be a warm-up tournament. Those teams, who failed to qualify through their regional qualifier, will have their chance at the ESWC Masters.

ESWC continue to use the same seeding system as they have used for several years now. The teams have been divided into three seeding pools, top, high and non-seeding pool. The teams have been seeded upon their latest results and previous results in ESWC.
Top seed

Denmark mTw
Poland MYM
Sweden SK Gaming
Sweden fnatic

High seed

Korea e-STRO
France emuLate
Brazil Made in Brazil
Germany mousesports

Challengers (no seed)

France Against All Authority
Germany Alternate
Netherlands DCC
United States Evil Geniuses
France Get2Gev
Switzerland Hellway
France dimension4

Czech Republic nEophyte
Denmark Spirit of Amiga
Finland roccat
Finland Excello
Spain x6tence

The teams will be split into a five-team group stage, where first two teams will qualify for the playoffs, being played single elimination.

Groups will be drawn on June the 30th and will be announced right here on the page.

HLTV.org will be in Paris to cover ESWC Masters 4-6th of July. So lock your doors and stay at home, we will be your home during the entire event with HLTV, scorebots, scores, standings, demos and photos.

I don't know why EG must be on High Seed. Lastly they got just 5-6 at KODE5 and 1st at WCG Pan, but was a tournament with 2 and a half team, being EG from Canada and MiBR playing with 3 players. Roccat deserve be on High Seed, EG not.

Will be there a group stage? Then they need to do one more seed(low seed maybe)to prevent groups of death like fnatic mouz eg roccat

The ESWC Masters is an extra chance for teams to qualify for the ESWC grand finals Uhm so why example SK-gaming and fnatic will participate on this, because they are already qualified to grand finals? Is there some cash price or are these already qualified-teams playing just for "warm-up"? playoffs, being played single elimination. one map elimination playoffs...bad bad :)

By reading your comment one more time, it made more sense. Let me clear it out for you. Single Elimination = Once you loose one game, you are out - Usually played BO3 Double Elimination = Have can loose two games and you are out. The final with this structure means that one team in the final (the one coming from lowerbracket) will have to win two maps versus the team coming from the upperbracket.

Yes, me too. But currently I think fnatic lacks motivation. There are so many other "hungry" clans out there with stronger ambition currently. I think fnatic is moving through a tough period right now but it would really be a performance if they took a 1st place in a major tournament this year.

No, listen. Teams that have already qualified for ESWC Grand Finals in San Jose later this year, cannot win anything but the money at ESWC Masters. The teams qualified for ESWC GF will be seeded later on, when all participants has been found. Did that clear out your question.

Actually i'm originally from Canada. And what you said was that he aint as skilled as f0rest and NEo which cannot be fully proven, but as i reffered you to demos where zonic played directly against whom you said he was not as good as. From what i have seen in those demos hes clearly as good as people say he is. Hakuteiken clearly didn't say he was the best but ONE of the best. I myself don't think that zonic is the best in the world. Please, no more ignorance :) \Danny "BadAzZ" Kristensen

Maybe they did not apply for the ESWC Masters, never the less, Virtus.pro(pro100), EYE and Proplay.ru are all qualified for ESWC Grand Finals later this year. Amazing Gaming got beaten by Virtus.pro(pro100) in the Ukrainian qualifier.

"after i saw nothing in action" If your reffering to n0thing in the movie "n0thing but headshots", it is not against pro teams (except for the newest clips) nor any team in this upcoming tournament. Yes, he is a very good gamer and have a lot of potential and can be something great someday, but i think for the time being, he will just have success in the USA with his awesome teammates in Team Evil Geniouses. I still believe in them at ESWC Masters though. gl

How do you think that your team was banned/cancelled to the ESWC final after you qualified for it one month ago. That's the true story happened in china HENAN province. One guy in HENAN ESWC committee finally found one of your player age under 18, then he cancel their qulification of ESWC final in CHINA will start off recently, but the guy did nothing one month ago.

In the rule-set for ESWC Grand Finals, following rule about age, following is written: 4.03 A team member is eligible to participate in the Electronic Sports World Cup Grand Final provided he fulfills all the following conditions: * The team member must be duly registered on www.eswc.com. * The team member must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the Electronic Sports World Cup 2008. Member that are not 18 years old or more must provide a parental authorization I'm not aware of any other rules in National qualifiers, but I could be wrong.

As far as i know, the rule of ESWC allow player under 18 to play under his guardian. Like, EG.usa n0thing.
