DH Open London announced

DreamHack has announced the first details about the Open event stop in London.

Back in March, DreamHack announced plans for a large-scale Open circuit comprising seven events held across Europe until the end of the year. At the time, DreamHack revealed that London would stage one event, but the exact date and location remained unknown.

It has now been announced that the 7,000-seat Copper Box Arena, a multi-sport venue used for the 2012 Summer Olympics, will play host to DreamHack's London stop, which will take place on September 19-20.

Copper Box Arena to host DH Open London

As in the previous DreamHack stops, the London event will play host to an eight-team CS:GO tournament, featuring a $40,000 prize pool.

If you plan on attending DreamHack London as a spectator, you can purchase tickets for the event here.

Really not true, CS:GO is pretty popular and growing here. Gfinity has low attendance because it's 18+ which means the main demographic of the people that are interested in CS are excluded.

Yeah, you should have watched the last I-series final. We had a whole 20 people watching the CSGO stage... Though, the summer LAN is usally different, I hope so in August.

When I went last load of people were playing CSGO as well as the stage having a pretty decent turnout, guess it varies with each event. Wrong choice of words by me lmao.

We may have no scene but lets be honest. We don't generate enough competition/revenue to have good teams because everyone needs a job to fund themselves. Its unlikely the UK will ever have a scene like it was in 1.6/css. Nice to see it in the UK though :)

You're a jumping well ahead of yourself. There are many teams inbetween the levels of amateur and full-time salary funded such as NiP, fnatic and C9 which English teams still CANT compete with... Are they using the same excuses? No. People need to pay the bills on other countries as well. Once a UK team sticks together and shows some results (i'm not saying winning a LAN, I mean beating other team who also aren't funded) they don't deserve the respect from an organisation.

Our players aren't good enough to get the salaries to be able to play full time otherwise I'm sure most people would jump at the chance. Only team to pose a threat in the UK was fm and they stil needed adjustments because neilzinho said that weber and socn argue alot.. I'd have replaced weber in a heartbeat instead of letting socn go but instead the team just got destroyed cmpletely..

I belive you've missed the point. "Everyone needs a job to fund themselves" apply to all contries not just England. The excuse is overused, and not remotely fair to other nations who've succeded in the game.

Gfinity gets no spectators because it's 18+ which alienates a lot of the people here that actually play.

I didn't know that, explains alot. Quite a mystery that Gfinity has chosen to make it 18+ when the crowd is more or less empty
