Ze Pug Godz are the last team to secure a place at ESWC 2015 after winning the Canadian qualifier.

Most of the Counter-Strike community set their sights over the weekend on the ESL ESEA Pro League Finals, but elsewhere, four Canadian teams battled it out for the last spot at the ESWC Finals.

Following the withdrawal of Tempo Storm - who no longer met the roster eligibility requirements after parting ways with two of their Canadian players -, ACE were regarded as the overwhelming favourites to win the qualifier, which was hosted by the Cyber Entertainment Agency as part of the Montreal Comic Con 2015.

However, Garett "⁠Grt⁠" Bambrough's side were stunned in the grand final by an ESEA team called Ze Pug Godz, who picked up 16-6 and 16-8 victories on de_mirage and de_train, respectively, in between ACE's 16-9 success on de_cobblestone.

shroud, naf -> c9, lum (invited) steel, azk -> volvo banned (presumably not allowed at eswc) semphis -> good option for a pug team. can players who were on USA qualifier teams play on CA qualifier teams? maybe he joins TS as a sub in place of whoever from their team couldn't play? then they might win this.

As you can see, Canadian CS has gone straight down-hill into the gutter since the 1.3-1.6 days of Team EG Canada. It's gone from team EG canada competing for 1st place at ESWC back in 1.6 in 2007/2008, to a bunch of nonamer 15 year old esea pug heroes + 1 invite player. There are lots of great Canadian player, just not many fully Canadian teams. You could easily make a completely Canadian team that could compete at the high levels but most of the players are spread out throughout mixed teams.

Pretty much their whole roster has played together before though.. Like this wasn't their first LAN together in canada.. So I guess they're not a total "PUG" you could say.
