ESWC group draw

The group draw for ESWC 2015 has taken place, with the 16 participants having learned their fate in the tournament.

The Société des Arts Technologiques, in Montreal, will play host to the 2015 edition of ESWC, where 16 teams from all over the world will fight for a slice of the $75,000 prize purse.

The tournament will see the 16 participants split into four groups of four teams, who will face one another in a best-of-one, round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will then move on to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.

Cloud9 will face Keyd Stars in the group stage

Each group contains one team from each of the four seeding pots, which were determined by past achievements.

ESWC 2015 will kick off on Friday with the group stage. The quarter-finals will be played out on Saturday, whereas the last-four stage and the grand final are scheduled for Sunday.

Group A: Flipside and either KeyD or Cloud9. Group B: NIP and Liquid Group C: NaVi and Titan Group D: EnvyUs and either CLG or Renegades. Final: Nip, EnvyUs

Keyd and Cloud9 spent the entire season demonstrating that were at the same level, so that the Keyd lost the title of ESL-ESEA North America due to problems with DDoS, yet the Keyd proved to be a better team individually, but more inconsistent than C9. In the championship of ESL ESEA both teams had incredible upsets, Keyd defeat TSM (top2) and C9 defeat 2 times Envyus (Top4), the inconsistency problem of Keyd appeared in the game against CLG, choose wrong map, and a game that was easy put in the trash. Compared against Fnatic both teams proved to be a level behind them , yet the two had excelent chance of winning some maps: Keyd (Train) Cloud9 (Overpass, Dust2) , but in this game C9 proved to be a better opponent for fnatic. These teams prove to be fickle championship to championship, I believe this league the the group has three evenly matched teams is the C9 hour display this inconsistency. I know the C9 and Keyd are better than Flipside, but psychological issues I believe que with all this hype the C9 will not go so well in these two matches.

That's what I worry about: That because of the hype from last weekend that C9 will not put 100% into it thinking they should easily win. I'm quite interested in seeing how Flipside, KeyD, Renegades, SK, and Liquid do in their different matches. I'm rooting primarily for NA teams, but hope KeyD and Renegades do well too. That said, if NiP and EnvyUs are in the final, I'll be rooting for NiP.
