ESWC 2015 viewer's guide

We have put together an official viewer's guide to get you ready for all the action of ESWC 2015, beginning tomorrow in Montreal, QC, Canada.

Despite this ESWC seeing the largest amount of top teams - ever - cancel attendance, it still packs plenty of top teams to get you excited for three days of action.

The sixteen teams who actually made it to Canada for the event will be competing for a prize purse of $75,000, which is split among the top eight finishers as follows.

1. $30,000
2. $15,000
3-4. $8,000
5-8. $3,500

In the group stage, which we have previewed, teams will play a regular round-robin with everyone facing everyone, and the top two finishers in each group advancing to playoffs.

Playoffs will begin on Saturday with best-of-three quarter-finals, followed up by semi-finals on Sunday. The grand final, also on Sunday, will be played in best-of-three.

Interesting groups, really. Nobody really knows how good the Chinese team is. Nobody can be sure how Flipside will play with Hiko in. Will C9 underestimate Pug Godz and be forced to find a way to win against BOTH Flipside and Keyd? That would be a very difficult task. They may very easily not even make it out of groups if they're not right on it. Liquid has some interesting matches, particularly with LDLC White and NiP. LG, CLG, Renegades... so many interesting matches to pay attention to.
