ESL One qualifiers team update

With all participants for worldwide ESL One Cologne 2015 qualifiers set, we now publish a list of all teams who can still make it to the next major in August.

As always with the Valve-sponsored majors, the last event's - that is, ESL One Katowice's - top eight finishers will receive direct invitations to the next $250,000 event.

That means fnatic, NiP, EnVyUs, Virtus.pro, Keyd Stars, Na`Vi, TSM and mousesports - who have three ex-PENTA players - will be on show in Cologne, if no major roster changes take place.

ScreaM's Kinguin are among the teams hoping to qualify for ESL One

To find out the remaining eight teams, a total of three regional offline qualifiers will take place - Asian qualifier in Kuala Lumpur, European qualifier in Cologne, and North American qualifier in Los Angeles.

First one to kick off will be the Asian regional qualifier, which will take place this coming weekend - July 18-19 - with the following teams competing for two spots:

China QeeYou Australia Renegades Vietnam Skyred India NeckBREAK
Australia Immunity Korea myRevenge Malaysia MVP.Karnal Mongolia The Mongolz

Second qualifier will be the European one, on July 25-26, which will feature sixteen teams - including five invited teams who went out in groups in Katowice - fighting for four spots:

Ukraine FlipSid3 Null element HellRaisers Europe Kinguin Denmark dignitas
France Titan Sweden 1337 Finland ENCORE Poland ex-INSHOCK
Russia PiTER Finland Epiphany Bolt Hungary ex-ROCK Poland Gamers2
Germany KILLERFISH Germany PENTA Spain OverGaming Norway LGB

Finally, on August 1-2 the North American qualifier will gather the continent's best eight teams in Los Angeles, California, fighting for two spots at the $250,000 major:

United States Cloud9 United States CLG United States Luminosity United States Liquid
United States eLevate United States Nihilum United States Noble Canada Tempo Storm

HLTV.org will provide you with coverage for all the three regional qualifiers as the sixteen teams that will be competing for the $250,000 prize purse at ESL One Cologne 2015 are determined.

Who would you put ahead of them? I can only think of 4 teams. Fnatic, TSM, NaVi, and VP. They're top 5 and most certainly tier 1 as of right now.

Despite being nV's kryptonite, C9 still cannot be considered the favorites should they play nV again, even though I think the same result would happen. I might put nV ahead of them, then. mouz and dignitas have not shown the same level as C9 yet, but they might be just as good. Mainly, when I say 6-8, I'm talking how they feel to me right now. They're riding high, but can they keep the form up and continue to improve even after the wave of initial success subsides? If they can, then they are a legit top T1 team, not just a T1 team, and we can talk about where to put them in the top5. Just my thinking on it. In the end, I'm just happy I finally have a legit NA team to root for again. They are playing good CS. ^^

yeah tbf they haven't truly beaten a T1 team that's not EnVy and slumping, but 5th is as high as I'd put c9. Obviously Fnatic, TSM, Na'Vi, and VP above them.

I don't know myself, but if C9 won't qualify from all these tier 2 teams that would suck ass. Is it BO1 format? I swear if any other american teams than Cloud9 or CLG/Luminosity advance they're gonna go out in groups 100%

Cloud9, cLG, Liquid are all better than Renegades and then you have Nihilum and Luminosity, teams that are just as good as renegades, sorry but If you mixed the quals I can guarantee you NA would get AT LEAST 3 of the 4 spots.

Renegades beat CLG at ESWC and destroyed Liquid by taking both maps in a BO2 at Gfinity. There's no reason to assume Liquid are better considering they haven't really shown up at all and your only reasoning behind CLG is they got lucky in 1 map against fnatic.

I wouldn't say Renegades are much better, if at all better though. One series hardly says anything, and it's not as if Renegades crushed CLG at ESWC. If I recall correctly, it was 16-14.

It was 16-13, but my point is that there is no evidence to back up his claim that CLG is better than Renegades - any previous matchups point to the fact that Renegades are better, if only slightly.

i dont understand that shit at all, tier 3 teams spend money on travel and hotels and get eliminated in groupstages with 0 wins... Why not split the tournament or make smaller one for tier 3 teams? They have no chance to win that shit. We basically know who will be in semis/qualis before the tournament even starts.

CLG and liquid are both probably better than titan currently and a decent match against dignitas. Titan is just flat out bad right now though. Considering dignitas is one of the best teams that needs to qualify I definitely think at least 3 NA teams would get spots if they had international qualifiers. Keep being an idiot that insists eu is much better though.

Of course is great. Both NA and Asia/Oceania have a great team. C9 and Renegades. Then they give one more spot so the other teams don't be sad. 1 to each. Seems fair.

EZ for Renegades, they have experianced greater teams than the aisa ones. it would be Renegades And Immuinity Going through. U.S will be Cloud 9 And Liquid EU Will be Kinquin, Flipside Penta, G2 and Dignitas. Btw where is fnatic and nip and EnVy Soo confused.

Honestly I do love MVP over all other Asian teams (Heck I even created the page for them on Liquipedia over QeeYou). But they have been beat down by Skyred so many times and Skyred has been winning so many tournaments. I think MVP can surprise but Skyred and QeeYou will be the brick walls they'll have to go through first

the dignitas that finished top 3 at mlg aspen is currently tsm. the dignitas that is qualifying will most likely make it, but their roster is different (pimp, kjaerbye, aizy, msl, nico).

Encore has a high skill ceiling and they are far from reaching their top. If they have a good run I don't see why they can't qualify. But then again if they have a bad day they can be beaten by a mix team like nerdRage, since they are quite aim-dependant team...

Honestly we dont even want to be considered better, we just want to be considered equals. When people say "what now swedes" "na>eu" whatever its out of frustration and trying to get back at all the insults we get, its not even like we really believe it.

no you dont know us... you just see whats on the internet and extrapolate that onto your perception about us... based on that, you just sit on the internet spreading hate... once you grow up and travel to other countries and meet people maybe one day your brain will expand and you will feel something other than hate..

I don't get it either rly, probably they are just some retarded haters, as not like u guys even get equal amount of qualifying spots to europe anyway so it should be totally OK even if one would think europe is better in CS currently and deserves more spots bcuz they actually get more spots. Also surely C9 has lately shown it is actually good team so with that NA definitely deserves spot already and other top teams should also be able to compete equal ground with euro tier2 at least so why would these euros deserve those spots more anyway? There is not much logic why NA should have any less spots tbh...

Probably bcuz it is kinda dumb to travel to other side of the world just for the qualifier for event, this seems much more sensible option (not to mention they probably want other teams to qualify 100% certainty besides euros XD...)

They wanted to make the event more worldwide. By having an own qualifier for both NA and Asia they ensure that atleast 2 teams from both will complete at the event.

As long as LG doesn't make it, that team is literally a waste of a NA spot. Always getting invites to LANs to get last place. I don't even think that team has won a total of 10 rounds over the last several LANs they've been to

EU qualifier will be interesting. IMO only inshock, Rock and OverGaming are the teams that have 0-change to make it. Then again Titan and FlipSid3 might have really hard time, and it won't be easy for HR or dignitas either. Hope to see Epiphany and ENCORE showing their top performance.
