minet returns in Airwalkers

Former mTw talent Oliver "minet" Minet has formed a new team which includes other known players from the Scandinavian scene.

It was early this February that Oliver "⁠minet⁠" Minet, a former mTw player in the days CS 1.6, announced his return to competitive play in CS:GO. The player boasts illustrious finishes under his belt such as 1st place at DreamHack Summer 2010, 2nd place finishes at DreamHack Winter 2009 & 2010, and a 3rd place finish at IEM V.

minet has now officially announced a new project, featuring his Danish cohorts from back when he returned to CS:GO, Jack "⁠wazorN⁠" Henriksen and Morten "⁠suraNga⁠" Jensen. Joining the three players will be two other talents, the first being Danish Hemen "⁠xanzir⁠" Nawros who was last seen playing for CPLAY.

minet's Airwalkers brings in xanzir & MODDII

The fifth and final player will be none other than Swedish Andreas "⁠MODDII⁠" Fridh, who has experience playing with xanzir on a previous roster earlier this year. MODDII, himself a CS 1.6 household name, has had a turbulent history in CS:GO, ranging from stints on the early fnatic lineup to inactivity to playing on the Danish scene.

minet prepared a lengthy explanatory statement for HLTV.org in order to explain the team's formation:

"For some time now, suraNga, wazorN and I have been playing with various players and trying to "create" something that would have the potential for something great. We feel we've found it in xanzir & moddii, from the first second communication was spot on and creative ideas were overflowing. Everything harmonized pretty quickly - since our ideas of how to play this game and how to progress are quite similar.

And to do so we've recruited a well known face for us at least. He's been behind me since I played in PlayZeek and even when I was in mTw at WCG in L.A: Mostly known for his full time coaching at FullGaming in 1.6: MarcK, who will be assisting in our progress. Sury, waz and I are exclusively known from 1.6 whereas both moddii and xanzir have been actively playing in cs:go and doing so well.

We're all very motivated with this project, especially our coach and we are currently practicing every day and all hunger for blood. We're are trying to reach out to various orgs, where we are looking for a long term relationship. We can be contacted at: [email protected]," Minet said.

MODDII is just going to leave the team after 2 weeks. which is happening with every team he played..So no point in dragging down the team with him and wasting time.. I prefer if they have a taken some one else instead of him..That's all.

Why does that make you a legend? because it doesnt , in any aspect. great player nothing else.

Legend is probably overused. I say that even though minet was one of my fav players, but legend should be reserved for the likes of heaton,spawn,f0rest etc

im not sure which player are u talking about.. but NaVi was the obstacle of every top team at that time and you cant say that they lost because trace/zonic you know the cs is more complex than that. NaVi was the best team in the world outplaying stars. whatever is always a pleasure talk about 1.6 with someone that already followed the scene not like the kids who spam the forum about things they have no idea about.

was talking about trace in the previous post but zonic is non-existent vs NaVi as well just kinda dissapointing to see them fail against NaVi everytime. imo they should've took some titles off NaVi if they did not underperform TSM are often called chokers but the popular mTw team (2010-2011) often choke in finals/NaVi

the thing your missing though is that it takes a lot of skill to make a team "underperform" every time you play against them. It could've just been Na'Vi finding a way to deal with these guys and shutting them down so that they wouldn't be able to play on their level as such.

The Reason line-up had to completely change after the CPH Games, the fall-out was down to him in some part. It worked for a while... but sadly he is, even though he has insane talent. :(

Yes, I did. I brought up xanzi's VAC because banter - it was a PC ban or sommet. I did a write up about it anyway, check the reason website for it. Anyway, a couple players left because of MODDII, then he left leaving only haste... so yes, MODDII was that bad.

I don't know how I feel about this.. minet never really impressed me too much when compared to calibers like zonic, trace, Sunde, MJe, ave, ... And if I remember correctly, the only reason he even played for mTw was because trace wouldn't join without him. I mean he was good I guess, but not a standout player on that particular team. I'll have to admit though, the lineup looks pretty strong on paper (MODDII and wazorN used to be total beasts and suraNga also rings a bell).
