FlipSid3 through to Cologne major

FlipSid3 Tactics have assured themselves a spot at ESL One Cologne after defeating dignitas 19-16 on de_mirage.

The final match of the day pitted dignitas, without a doubt one of the favourites to secure a spot at the Cologne major, against FlipSid3 Tactics, who are still trying to adapt to life without Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev.

After struggling against Team Kinguin in the Upper Bracket final, dignitas entered this match seeking redemption, and at the end of the first half it did seem like they had found it as they enjoyed a whopping 12-3 lead.

But FlipSid3, who had overturned a 5-10 deficit against KILLERFISH earlier in the day, showed a mental fortitude in the second half and turned in an incredible performance on the CT side to take the game to overtime, in which they would claim two rounds in each half to seal the victory.

Hence why lots of t2 teams lose focus in between majors beacuse they're little to be made, and focus heavily on majors. They've failed twice now while raping other t2 teams in the off-season. Bondik said a few days ago that DavCost is only a temporary player for this major. They are yet to discuss and decide who will be their fifth player since right now they want to focus on this major. People think that top3 candidates for the spot right now are DavCost, hooch and spaz.

btw, dignitas took a vacation till the 22nd of july, so not much practice going into the qualifiers, but still, they choked so hard.

Probably not. You just think so because they tryhard in the off-season in between majors, where other t2 teams just chill and save energy and motivation for the majors. Because sticker money is all that counts for your team and org when you can't really win big price money. Dignitas, the kings of what others don't care about.

Do you understand what that means? - I give a slight edge against Kinguin cause of the tactical advantage, hence 60% 40% - I give a large advantage against Flipsid3 due to having more skill and only slightly lesser tactics, hence 80% 20%

Disappointing from dignitas, they were the best team in this group. Going on vacation for 2-3weeks before a big event qualifier might not be the best idea... Considering their form before going off, it's really strange.
