mousesports win ESL Meisterschaft

mousesports secured a ESL Sommermeisterschaft title following a dominant defeat of PENTA in the grand final (2-0; de_cache 16-4, de_overpass 16-4).

After a lengthy online phase, consisting of five qualifiers and a group stage, ESL Sommermeisterschaft Finals came down to four sides in ESL studios in Cologne, Germany, mousesports, PENTA, Planetkey Dynamics and uX.

While PENTA defeated their semi-final opponents without dropping a map to uX, Planetkey gave mousesports a run for their money.

gob b's mousesports confirm their dominance in Germany

Manuel "⁠Tixo⁠" Makohl's side managed to win de_cache 16-11 before dropping de_dust2 convincingly 5-16, as well as de_cbble after one overtime, 15-19.

It came down to mousesports and PENTA in the grand final afterwards, but mousesports seemingly had little to no problems taking the title after two very one-sided maps, de_cache and de_overpass, both 16-4.

they were 5-15 behind. i turned the stream off at the 15th round for pkd because i thought its over 4 hours later i found out that mouz won the tournament. and i was just like NO FUCKING WAY for the next 5 mins. lol

one thing not mentioned in the article that is worth pointing our was the fact that mouz coulnt have made it to the final if it was not for the unreal performance on de_cbble where mouz were losing 5:15 and somehow won 10 rnds in a row to tie it at 15:15 and eventually to win in it in OT! That was WOW!

Yeah thought so because they're renaming it everywhere. ESL got established franchises EPS, ESL Major Series, IEM and they fucked them up completely just because they tried to make two circuits (that were supposedly at the same level) at the same time. I miss the old ESL. :(
