CPH Wolves unveil new team

Copenhagen Wolves have announced that they have made another foray into competitive Counter-Strike by signing a new Nordic team.

CPH Wolves had been actively searching for a new team to support since the disbandment of their Danish roster, which would go on to form the basis of SK Gaming's division.

Instead of taking a step into the unknown, CPH Wolves signed three players from LGB, Ruben "⁠RUBINO⁠" Villarroel, Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad and Morten "⁠zEVES⁠" Vollan Christensen. The transfer process was facilitated by the fact that both organisations are owned by the same company, Diglife.

Rounding out the roster are two Swedish players, Erik "⁠zende⁠" Sundeqvist and Simon "⁠twist⁠" Eliasson, both of whom were on the market after parting ways with Property at the weekend.

"We are extremely excited to once again return to the roots of the Copenhagen Wolves, as we venture back into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive," CPH Wolves CEO Jakob Lund Kristensen said in a statement.

"Since our last tenure, the game has seen an immense growth and we feel it is a natural and needed step for our company.

"Though our emphasis and priorities have always been on the development of Danish talents, we feel that this particular lineup is simply too talented, too hungry and too skilled to not become a part of our wolfpack.

"They share both the dedication and determination that we have been looking for and we have honoured this with a longterm deal that will provide them with the best possible circumstances to live up to their lofty potential."

The Norwegian team will make their first appearance for CPH Wolves tonight, at 21:00 , in the closed qualifier for DreamHack Open London. They are also due to compete in CEVO Professional, in which they will face off against teams like Kinguin, mousesports and Titan.

zeves better igl than anyone in denmark with the exception of karrigan my friend. he's obviously not strong individually but you obviously need that igl. all the t2 teams show that, you don't get anywhere without it even with so much individual skill. just look at past property/flipsid3 lineups with schneider and twist and others together > they don't get anywhere whatsoever because of it.

I am not gonna deny that zeves is a good igl, but better than most danish igl's out there? Individually gla1ve is better and has performed with a top four team (WW) and Berry is not in anyway a bad igl and they look to be pretty much the same individually, while Berry has taken SK and only made them stronger. I would rate them very equally.

Which is of course not true, there is only a beef between him, Nico and Pimp to my knowledge. My information is that gla1ve denied the contracts offered, latest from SK who then acquired Berry instead.

Stop terming it pro player about someone who can barely be called semi-pro and do me a favour and stop writing lol, only kids do that. This discussion is about zeves and how alike he and Berry is in terms of skill. Hunden = Berry? Thats why SK has had more success under Berry than they did with Hunden. Individually they are not that far apart, though I still see Berry as a better player, by watching the little things in his game. Your whole reply reeks with reading too much on the hltv fora and thinking that aiming/rating is everything, without seeing how much of a "toll" it is on ones game when playing the igl role and how that is played by the individual player. Just watch the hltv ratings and look at the bottom. Two of the worlds top5 igl's (B1ad3 and gob b) are there along with seangares, Ex6tenze, fetish, maxaki, dw, hooch, prb, berg, hunden and other igl's. It is not a coincidence.

Fair enough, and good that you at least tried to keep your reply friendly. I have no illusions about my own reply, it was harsh, because I could see that you didn't know what kind of person you were replying to and in the manner that reply was made. Personally I never deal well when other people use absolutes like 'he is the worst', 'you can't deny', because there are always positives and negatives to be found surrounding each player and it is almost impossible of measuring an igl contra any other type of player. It is also a personal preference who is better and who isn't and we all look at CS in different ways, as I look at it with my experience and you with yours. We don't have to agree, but what I "think" I know is built upon years and years of experience... and some more years on top of that.

I dont know berry personally, but im thinking u might. sinse u are defending him. hes aim is bad to say the least. hes ingame iq is rly not good either, he might be good at mid round calls or something. i dont know tbh. but for me its puzzling that he is even in SK. i rate him rly rly low. his fragging is around my lvl. an i have 200h of go:D(ofc hes a lil better but not much tbh). im an old igl myself btw. And i have years an years of exp aswell. i use to play alot with dupreeh in css. before he went total geek an i "retired" cuz of poker. I think the only reason hes in SK is hes old friendship with friis from 1.6. an the fact that they, him an acillion. won that assembly event in findland(total fluke btw) and ofc the lack of better options. ps. my overall point is, that Berry is holding SK back, an if they wanna go big hes simply not good enough. I agree that Berry to a certain limit is holding SK back, but in that regard he isn't the only one from my perspective and as there are no players to replace either him or any of the other weaknesses its a bit of a weird discussion as gla1ve didn't wanna sign a contract. I don't know your level of ingame knowledge, but Berry is very much on par on the level he plays at and I think of it as one of his strengths. So there we can agree to disagree. I don't know him personally, he is too newschool for me to have played against him in anything else but mixes/gathers/ffa etc. He is in SK because he is the only viable IGL in DK that wanted to sign a contract with the team, of course having some network helps, but I can't see anyone out there, who are active, with enough experience that would be able to do better than him.

I don't know about Swedes, but I know that Norwegians would understand Swedish in a hectic situation 100% of the time. There are some Norwegian dialects that are harder to understand than Swedish. Swedish is basically the same as Norwegian, it's like british english vs american english.

there are VERY few capable igl's in scandinavia. hardly anyone whatsoever in sweden & norway. he's like the only real igl i can think of outside of pronax and xizt & now retired threat. it sounds nuts but hardly anyone at all actually make real strategies for their teams like him. watch some youtube videos like the one by ddk on lgb and you would change your mind about him. or watch for example lgb's win over tsm on mirage and you will see him at his peak in terms of leadership.

It's really possible to make a strong third team for Diglife now. You get mystic back from LC, pair with him schneider, maybe slap from LC, spitfire, and then another. Could be polly, or not.

London Mint, Birmingham Salvo, Stockholm Magnetik, Seoul Jinhwa, Rio Sinistro, Berlin Allianz, Sydney Underground and so on. But even if this is not football, american football, badminton (team divisions) or any other sport it is still a sport non the less. It is still a very common way of defining a name for a team, specially when trying to restructure the scene and organizations.
