nerdRage have confirmed that they will continue to support their CS:GO roster despite Viliam "villiG" Andrascik's cheating incident.

nerdRage made headlines on Saturday as Viliam "⁠villiG⁠" Andrascik was handed a two-year ban by FACEIT after being caught cheating during the European preliminary qualifier for DreamHack Cluj.

The Slovakian player then admitted to cheating in the qualifier and revealed that he had purchased the software the night before. He also claimed that he did not have enough time to set up everything, which, in the end, triggered FACEIT's anti-cheat client.

After previously stating that the incident would not make them back away from the Counter-Strike scene, nerdRage have now confirmed that they will keep supporting the team, which has been depleted to just four players following villiG's release.

Moreover, nerdRage have decided to forfeit all prize winnings from recent tournaments in which they fielded villiG due to the organisation's stance on the "integrity of the competitive scene."

"Following an extended discussion between our existing squad members, organisation staff and sponsors, we have decided to continue to support our existing line-up. We hope to find a suitable replacement for villiG whilst remaining active in both CEVO Main and Game Agents League," nerdRage manager Alexander "alexE" Erdogan told HLTV.org.

"We would like to make it clear that Nerd Rage as a professional organisation is prepared to take a hard stance on any player caught cheating which I hope was reflected by the immediate suspension of the player in question.

"In conclusion we would like to extend our deepest apologies to all players, teams and fans that have been affected by this incident. Although there is no evidence of villiG cheating prior to the FACEIT ban, we have made the decision to forfeit the prize money won from both Quick shot Arena #5 and Dingit.tv Weekly Cup #14 and #15, as a gesture of our commitment to the integrity of the competitive CSGO scene."

It wasn't brought to my attention, I rarely watch the streams only look at scorebot. When you have a team full of good players playing at a particular level of skill above your own, you tend not to think those kind of thoughts.
