QeeYou withdraw from DH Stockholm

DreamHack has announced that QeeYou have withdrawn from the upcoming Open event in Stockholm.

The Chinese giants had secured a spot at the Swedish event after finishing at the top of the Asian pre-qualifier following a 2-0 victory over Skyred in the grand final.

However, it has now been revealed that ZhiHong "⁠aumaN⁠" Liu's side have been forced to cancel their attendance at the Cluj major qualifier as they did not have enough time to obtain visas due to passport issues.

Replacing QeeYou in Stockholm will be Skyred, who will be hoping to finally make their mark in the international scene after previously attending several big Asian LAN events.

"It is unfortunate that the qualifiers had to be held so close to the event and with that in mind we were prepared to assist all attending teams in getting the required documents needed to obtain visa to Sweden," a statement from DreamHack read.

"As soon as the Asian pre-qualifier finished on Sunday, September 6th, we reached out to QeeYou to start the process of issuing visa invitation letters and other relevant documents needed for them to have a smooth process.

"QeeYou could only provide us with passport details of the players on the evening of Sunday, September 12th, due to one player having to obtain a new passport.

"On Monday, September 14th, we issued invitation letters and hotel confirmation to the team. A few hours later the team replied that there was not enough time to obtain visas for the players and that they would forfeit the spot."

The final list of participants for DH Open Stockholm, which takes place from September 22-26, consists of:

I didn't play Source/1.6, I just played Quake/TF before, but it seems like a lot of the prejudice towards Germans stems from the previous CS titles... If I ever see any cheaters, there are just as many French, Russian, Swedish, Danish cheaters and so on, as German ones, through my experience. Not considering the fact that the guy's a dickhead, but if I'd be any of you right now, I'd want to see the bigger picture. I didn't want anyone to cheat ever, so I don't want anyone to just look at where I'm from and draw their stupid conclusions from that delusional bullshit.

They can only blame themselves.. Who the hell does not check if their passport is valid, when there is a chance they have to travel that far? Visa problems are so known that it seems unprofessional not to prepare beforehand.
