Virtus.pro partner with Egamingbets

Russian esports organisation Virtus.pro have partenered with Egamingbets, a bookmaker for esports that has lately ventured into partnerships with competitive teams.

Virtus.pro, whose Polish CS:GO team was recently seen winning the ESL ESEA Dubai Invitational, has announced a new partnership with Egamingbets.

The move is indicative of a continuing trend of betting outfits investing in competitive esports, with the signing of Dobry Gaming by CSGOLounge being another recent high profile story.

The Virtus.pro jersey will have to add one more sponsor to its fabric

And this is not the first occasion that Egamingbets has dipped its toes in competitive sponsorship waters as the bookmaker sponsors organisations such as Starladder and HLTV.org and teams such as Natus Vincere.

Egamingbets is an electronic sports bookmaker with betting options for a wide profile of competitive titles, including CS:GO, as well as the availability to enact a variety of bet-making options such as express bets, nested bets, and betting with points instead of real money.

Yes, they would. They did that in the past, so why not now? Of course in a smart/tricky way. People kill for money, so why not lose something while playing a computer game. If serious money is at stake, people will find ways to cheat their way out. We are only humans afterall: weak, greedy, full of shit. Only imbecile would rule out such possibility.

They did what specifically in the past? Bet on a match that was already played out and they knew the result. I wonder how you would behave in that scenario. Further more, that was just a one time thing, a fluke. Why would they even care for a 30 dollar skin if they just won 100k. Get a grip

HLTV looks like fucking dogshit with all these ads and if you're going to delete this comment w/o replying it fucking shows that you don't even care anymore. This post is another example of HLTV going downhill, Nomad I'm just disappointed.

Yes. Which conclusions can you make out of that? Corruption is in the center of many sports, football is most likely the most corrupted since it's the most popular world wide. The fact that a sport has a corrupted environment doesn't mean CS should follow its path. And still, at least football is under close surveillance of the law because of the insane amounts of money it handles, while CS is pretty much under the radar. Unless a betting platform doesn't list any game from the team they sponsor, they shouldn't be allowed to sponsor a team, it's a simple matter of conflict of interests. And no, sorry but the excuse "yeah but others are doing it so why can't they do it as well" is not acceptable in my opinion.

Holy shit, take your fucking tinfoil hat off and actually think about what you type before you do so. Even if there was a conflict of interest, the moment anyone from egamingbets attempts to act upon that conflict of interest (e.g contacts VP regarding match fixing) VP would just instantly dump them and move on

Your assessment is as big of an assumption as his, so you're dumb as fuck. Do you see yourself walking away from an opportunity to make several Grand from one throw? Ex-iBP certainly didn't, so what makes you think this situation isn't possible from countless incidents that has already came about? Fucking imbecile

Comparing the iBuypower throw to potential VP throw is such a momentous insult to logic that it doesn't even bear mentioning. You my friend, are a fool.

You're only supposing that VP would dump them instantly, no one knows what they would decide, which makes it a risk. And I'm not only talking about the players here, I'm talking about the whole organization. It's funny that everyone brings the tinfoil hat as soon as they see something they don't agree with. The tinfoil hat "argument" is used against people who make unreasonable and paranoid claims like, for example, aliens are among us or things like this. A conflict of interest is nothing unreasonable or paranoid, it's been seen billions of times through history of mankind, and as long as money is involved, it's a risk to take into account as a community. Furthermore, VP were already involved into a scandal regarding betting, taking advantage of a bug on the csgolounge platform. I'm willing to believe just as you do that they wouldn't take advantage of a conflict of interest, but the best way to ensure that they don't is simply to prevent such conflict to happen, which isn't currently the case. Of course it's not only for VP, it would have been another team I would think the same way. By the way, I think the csgolounge team is in the same situation.

Thanks, actually it has a double meaning, it can also mean that I'm unable to frag, and that's exactly why I chose it when I started CS: I knew I would be extremely bad, but I had hopes to become so good that I could prevent everyone from fragging me ^^. I doubt I'll ever reach that stage though :p.

Does this mean they'll get a better salary? Or still get paid peanuts compared to other teams?
