Immunity upset Cloud9 at Crown's

Immunity have taken down North American powerhouse Cloud9 on home soil, winning 2-1 at the Crown's Counter-Strike Invitational (16-12 on de_cache, 7-16 on de_dust2, and 16-3 on de_overpass).

Although The World Championships has stolen much of this weekend's spotlight, the 55,555 AUD (~$40,000) Crown's Counter-Strike Invitational in Melbourne, Australia saw Cloud9 and Virtus.pro make their way down-under in order to challenge Renegades and Immunity, the winners of the Crown Invitational Australian qualifier.

The first semifinal paired Cloud9 up against Immunity, two teams who last attended the DreamHack Open Stockholm qualifier but who only ever got to face off many months ago at Gfinity Spring Masters II.

Immunity gave Cloud9 a taste of what it means to fly so far and walk away defeated

de_cache saw a fairly even first half (Cloud9 finishing up 8-7) make way for a confident Immunity T-side assault that led the Australians to take the map 16-12.

On the other hand, de_dust2 was the Cloud9 show and not much of a contest with the Canadian-American team winning 16-7. Things came down to a third map where Immunity surprisingly obliterated Cloud9 16-3, sending the North American out of the tournament much humbled.

I think its becoming more and more obvious that that streak of 3 straight finals was just an anomaly from C9, and it seems clear that they aren't as good as a lot of people thought. You can't really expect very much from them anymore. Skadoodle is also very overrated (doesn't mean he is bad, not just on the level people usually rate him)

He didn't say it was a "fluke", he said it was an anomaly. An unusually good run of form from a team that isn't in practice as strong as people predicted nor thought. Not to say their normal standard is less than Immunity, because I think we all know C9>Immunity, but with the crowd, the atmosphere, just the day today meant that Immunity took it.

one final they got to by facing all NA teams and the event ended with NA vs Eu. that one was given to c9. then they beat envyus a bunch to get to another one, who made a roster change and stomped c9 the first game they played since. what do you think a fluke is?

i mean it sounds troll but its pretty obvious the adderal was helping them make it to those finals... As Taz has said "they never change the way they play.. they always play the same way".. the only way u can get away with that is if ur mad fragging(which is what makes CS:GO so good, if its legit fragging). Either way.. take the adderal into consideration or not.. its because they need to learn to change when other teams adapt to their playstyle... (but i still think it was the drugs).. Skadoodle seems like the only one chill enough to be legit without them. edit: i mean immediately after they were drug testing c9 started to faulter.

If you actually know what the fuck is going on, then C9's recent performance is expected. It's not because they aren't as good as they were, they are exactly where they have been. Their recent tournament successes was predicated on anti-strating. This mean that they won't always be consistent. It doesn't mean they won't be able to replicate their success, but until they develop their own consistent style of play, the lows will come with highs, especially when teams start to counter their anti-strats.

0_0 One thing I like about fallen is that he's amazing in close quarters with awp. That's his strong suit imo, although I prob don't watch him as much as you. I'm not sure what you mean by "raw skill" since that's a very vague term, but let's be real, he's not "much better" than ska. I see a better Immunity today, they are playing solid and like a unity, but that is my thoughts. i see more effort, tension, nervosism by their side. They want to really win that match against cloud9. cloud9 was just chilling. they are focus, calm, but not to great efforts to win the match. you cannot create tension between teamates and players have to rest until Major. They are saving strats and having good time =D
