FolloweSports.com to drop team
FolloweSports.com have revealed that they are looking to offload their Counter-Strike team.
FolloweSports.com entered the competitive Counter-Strike scene in August when they signed SKDC's roster following some promising results, which included securing a spot in the North American ESL ESEA Pro League division.
However, it has been kind of a bumpy road in the last few weeks, with mixed results in online tournaments and Warren "hades" Rettich's departure following an alleged dispute with the organisation for what he described as "unfortunate circumstances."
After FolloweSports.com learned that the team were actively seeking other opportunities, the relationship between the organisation and the players hit a new low, resulting in the esports coverage hub pulling the plug on the sponsorship deal.
"We have no intentions of leaving the team without a home," FolloweSports.com co-founder Marty Strenczewilk told theScore eSports.
"We of course will always look at any opportunity that comes our way, however it isn't our intention to just release the team."
"We're working to ensure the players aren't left in a position where they don't have an organization and a salary, when it's something they need to be able to count on as professional players. "
The Canadian team currently sit seventh in the ESL ESEA Pro League, on a 3-5 record, while in CEVO Professional they are next-to-last, with six draws and four defeats from ten matches. Their roster currently consists of:
Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien
Ellis "els" Clay
Owen "wabbit" Farrelly
Derek "desi" Branchen (stand-in)
