TWC semi-finalists decided

Day three at The World Championships has finally come to an end with four representative teams advancing to semi-finals, namely Sweden, Poland, Russia and France.

After some issues caused during the first two days, day three was by far the most delayed due to DDoS attacks, to a point where the organizers were forced to have matches played off-stream.

Russia and Norway went to double digits on each map

Poland kicked the day off with a 2-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan expectedly, but the Asian country gave one of the top four teams a run for their money, at least on map two, de_dust2.

Sweden definitely had bigger problems up against one of the two North American representatives present in Belgrade, as even their 8-7 win as Terrorists on de_inferno wasn't enough to clinch sixteen and they had to close it out in overtime.

de_cbble was a bit less dramatic, very much thanks to NiP's Richard "Xizt" Landström's beastly performance, worthy of a whopping 2.08 rating (37-16 K-D), that helped Sweden move to semis at 16-11.

In a very CT-sided de_overpass, we got to see another overtime battle between Russia and Norway, which the former managed to steal away at 19-16 despite being down 3-12 at halftime.

Norway responded on map two, de_dust2, quite comfortably, much thanks to a strong 10-5 half as Terrorists. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see map three as the organizers were forced to play it off-stream, but it was Russia to take the third semi-finals spot on de_mirage (16-10).

Much like the third map of the previous match, France and Germany had to play their quarter-final without the stream. If you'd like to see the whole match, we will upload GOTV demos from all matches to the Replays section, hopefully later tonight.

The big favourites of the entire tournament, led by Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer, clinched the last spot in tomorrow's semi-finals 16-2 on de_cbble and 16-7 on de_cache.

yeah countries.. but Sweden and Poland bring terrible lineups compared to what they could, the french lineup is one of the strongest they can bring and the same goes for Russia, it would have been better with a strong lineup from Poland and Sweden too.. If they didn't meet in the semis, the Final should be between France and Russia when you look at the lineups :p
