Kapio joins mousesports as coach

Counter-Strike veteran Navid "Kapio" Javadi has agreed to coach mousesports' team until the end of the year, HLTV.org has learned.

The 30-year-old veteran has been out of action since late 2012, when he called time on a career which saw him play a crucial role in two of the most successful German teams in the history of Counter-Strike.

His breakthrough came in 2006, when his ALTERNATE aTTaX squad won the WSVG finals, in Texas. The following year, he signed for mousesports, with whom he would win Extreme Masters Season II, Extreme Masters Season III Dubai and IEM Season IV Gamescom, among other tournaments.

Kapio to coach mousesports

After a three-year hiatus, Navid "⁠Kapio⁠" Javadi has decided to venture again into Counter-Strike, this time as a coach for mousesports, who will attend DreamHack Open Cluj next week.

Team SoloMid, G2 and FlipSid3 Tactics will be mousesports' opponents in the group stage of the Romanian major. The German team will attend the event with hopes of at least breaking into the top eight after finishing 9th-16th at ESL One Cologne.

There is Division 1, Divison 2.1 and 2.2 and 124 "starter divisons" with each 8 teams.

Well, hard to tell. They finished 5th this season and it was only 2nd division. I think the team consisted mostly of oldschool players like approx, ninja, coLLy, Kapio etc...but doesn't look like they went far or they didn't practice at all and just played the games.

IMO they should get rid of gob, I always expected him to be the new coach, but well ... I think coaches can kinda replace the IGLs to a specific point and gob does lack the ability of fragging. No way mouz can get into tier1 with him and niko together.

What I meant: Gob b does lack the ability of fragging, as mentioned. He's a good igl for sure, but a big problem is his english, and due to niko one of them is limited (either gob for not being able to make proper english calls or niko for not speaking german, since I dunno in what lang gob calls).

Why would you pick up a ex-player who hasn't played for years and is out of touch with the game and meta as your coach? Sure Kapio was a good player many years ago, but what does he bring to the table now? Retired players make good coaches, but only when they stay in touch with the game and are up to speed with how it is played. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kapio hasn't even played CSGO competitively at all? I don't see him helping the team much tactically because well, frankly, tactics in 1.6 were pretty lacking and much simpler. What else can he possibly bring to the table that an experienced player like gob b doesn't already by playing in the team? Judging as an outsider, this seems even more worthless than natu was to NiP.

He sat behind them a few times and afaik he played cs too? Btw just pickin up coaches (trend nowadays) doesnt rly mean u win.. Look at heaton doin shit as coach as the players need to do every fuck. Was devilwalk/vugho a good coach? We dunno, some say their success is caus of them but what about the games lost then. Still depends on the players. A lot of them gettin cocky as well but the ones like starrix and vp coach are silent in the background, god knows what they do. Imo igl should > coach right after since he knows the scene/oppo/strats etc best
