Winterfox have announced the additions of Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez and Derek "desi" Branchen to their CS:GO team.

The announcement was made together with SteelSeries, with which Winterfox has agreed an unprecedented partnership as their CS:GO team will train full-time inside the Chicago headquarters of the gaming manufacturer.

Winterfox's team had been depleted to just four players following the departure of Jacob "⁠pyth⁠" Mourujärvi in the aftermath of a failed qualification campaign for DreamHack Open Cluj.

It has now been revealed that Jonatan "⁠Devilwalk⁠" Lundberg has also stepped down from the team, which he had joined in July, when they were still playing under Luminosity.

Replacing the two Swedish players will be Kyle "⁠flowsicK⁠" Mendez, who was on lookout for a new team after being released by Liquid, and Derek "⁠desi⁠" Branchen, formerly of iBUYPOWER and Nihilum.

"SteelSeries has given us everything a team could possibly want, in terms of both sponsorship stability, and a world-class training facility,” Alex “LeX” Deily said on the partnership with SteelSeries.

"The idea is bold, and although there were obstacles to accomplish a completely new type of partnership, we’re ready to rise to the challenge as a solidified team."

Winterfox's revamped lineup looks as follows:

oh yes I could NA = PUG at it best, most of them haven't even exp in cs in the past tournaments or anything I go back to 2001, and more friends that have been playing on higher level for many years than they will be, if they cant even get into a international tournament only play NA scene whats the point?

Did I say it's easier? No I didn't and csgo is a very skill full game and needs allot of dedication to be world top. I was just saying if I get the chance to get paid with 4 friends and play in Steelseries HQ I would do better then that. But I'm 28 yrs old now I have a job, a house to pay, a girlfriend. Its not like back in 1.1/1.3/1.5/1.6 cs era just go to school or finished school and have no real obligations.

You do realise NA are qualifying for majors etc. by beating other tier 2 EU teams so that they can actually get stomped by the Tier 1 Eu teams, right? If you're saying globals can beat tier 2 teams youre wrong. Most globals regardless of region are below tier 3 (as in they couldn't even make a Main team) especially with thew new player influx boosting ex-average players to the top of the rankings.
