UX Gaming release team

The announcement comes in the aftermath of a controversial Global Esports Cup clash involving UX and PENTA Sports, which the former won by a 2-0 scoreline.

The community expressed their anger at UX following suspicious actions from the team's players, and criticism reached its pinnacle once it was discovered that extremely high bets had been placed on UX at the last second, prompting Fanobet to cancel all bets on this match.

Both PENTA and UX rejected claims that the match had been fixed, with the latter organisation also denying that their team fielded Sebastian "⁠xenn⁠" Hoch, who had recently been banned on FACEIT for cheating.

Upon conducting an investigation into the matter, Game Show discovered that Thilo "⁠syken⁠" Phan played the match on a smurf account that had previously been used by xenn. While analysing the demo and comparing it with previous matches played by xenn, the organisers found many similarities between the two players in terms of "certain map positions and habits."

In light of these facts and the suspicious betting activity, Game Show decided to disqualify the team from the Global Esports Cup and ban it from the following two seasons of the tournament.

UX did not take long to react and announced the removal of the players, who may have to appear before a court should the organisation decide to press charges.

"We believed in our team until the very last second," UX Gaming's Head of eSports Thomas "tomseN" Zwietasch said in a statement. "That is why I wrote yesterday's statement the way I did.

"We will see if and in which way we take legal action [against the players].

"We have decided to stay away from CS:GO until next year. Time will tell if and how we will make a comeback.

"For transparency reasons, I can say that we spoke with Game Show, CSGOLounge, PENTA and FACEIT. They support us and told us that their bans are directed at the players and not the organisation."
