Less than a year after venturing into esports, melty have dispensed with the services of their male and female squads as the organisation will focus on their other divisions, namely League of Legends, Hearthstone, Overwatch and Street Fighter.

The decision caught the players by surprise, with melty's male team having recently begun preparations for Copenhagen Games after bringing in Mathieu "⁠LaAw⁠" Plantin in the aftermath of a quarter-final exit at ESWC PGW Open.

For melty's female squad, the timing of the announcement was less than ideal as the players will travel to Munich later this week for the offline finals of Playing Ducks Masters, where four teams will battle it out for $2,500 in cash prizes.

"It is not without sadness that we announce that after nine months of hard work, our adventure ends today with Melty," David "DAYVZ" Ly, manager of the male squad, said.

"There have been many ups, but also downs, but in the end we were always supported by the organisation.The decision was made by Melty to refocus its activities on the eSport games that work best with their public. We'd like to thank Chouw, Damien, MenraW, Imuhan for this incredible story without whom nothing would have been possible. They trusted us until the end.
