Sextet qualify for Americas Minor

Six teams have qualified for the Americas Minor following the end of the qualifiers in North and South America.

A total of 16 teams competed in the North American qualifier, which almost went according to script as the top three seeds - Dogmen, EnemyGG and Winterfox - were able to secure spots at the Minor.

Unseeded Obey.Trifecta, who had defeated compLexity 2-0 in the Open qualifier, were the surprise package of the tournament as they managed to book a place in the $50,000 competition. Cory "⁠APE⁠" Bate's side enjoyed an incredible run, beating SPLYCE, Sponsorless and ex-Denial to ensure a top-four finish.

Meanwhile, 128 teams from all over South America competed in a double-elimination bracket for the chance to represent the region at the upcoming Minor. The former Keyd Stars team, now playing for AlienTech, topped the Upper Bracket after winning seven matches without dropping a single map along the way.

Expectations surrounding INTZ were high, but Raphael "⁠cogu⁠" Camargo's team ended up crashing out of the qualifier in the seventh round of the Lower Bracket following a defeat against Venezuelan side Nagasaki Gaming. It ended up being another Brazilian squad, called SITECS, to secure the final South American spot at the Minor after defeating SANTOS Dexterity 16-11 in the Consolidation final of the tournament.

The Americas Minor will be held at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, from January 15-17. These six qualified sides plus two invited teams will square off for a place at the offline qualifier for the MLG major and the bulk of a $50,000 prize pool.

It won't be Games Academy, they are ineligible for the Minor because of boltz. It will be Conquest and someone else - thought I have no idea who with C9, CLG, Liquid and LG out of the mix.

No. Players who participated in Cluj-Napoca are not eligible to participate in any part of the Minors. Teams that have players like this (ie boltz, Pimp and pronax) can only qualify to the Offline Qualifier through the invite only Last Chance Qualifiers. Impossible to say. The only somewhat notable team that currently exists that didn't participate in the qualifiers was Method. Perhaps the new TSM roster could snag an invite, but that would be highly suspect.

Games Academy are not eligible fro the Minor because they have boltz. They're only path to the Offline Qualifier is through the Americas Last Chance slot

INTZ got fucked because the guys from venezuela, peru, colombia...) played the qualifier on NA servers so brazilians and argentinians had really high ping and they didn't Ex jayob lost to dex, dex lost to sitecs. Dunno about g3x though. Maybe they lost to the argentinians of ntn.
