E-Frag, PENTA qualify for EU minor

The second of four open qualifiers for the European minor has ended today, with the two semifinals being played out between E-Frag.net and BX3 in the first and PENTA and Space Soldiers in the second.

E-Frag.net won the first match against BX3 without too much trouble as they were able to take their spot in the final after only two maps. The match started on E-Frag.net's pick, de_dust2, which the team won 10-16, and ended with a 13-16 scoreline on BX3's pick, de_mirage.

The second match featured PENTA, a team that has lately been facing some turmoil after losing Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter to mousesports and Hendrik "⁠strux1⁠" Goetzendorff decided to go on hiatus, and Space Soldiers, who have also just brought on Engin "⁠ngiN⁠" Kor to take over for Emre "⁠e1⁠" Biçer.

The German team started strong by winning the first map—Space Soldiers' pick—, de_cobblestone, but were unable to close out the match on their pick, de_dust2, letting Space Soldiers run away with a 7-16.

The third map was a heartbreaker for Space Soldiers, though, as they were unable to culminate the comeback, both in the match and in the map, and ended up falling 14-16 on de_cache.
