DH Open Leipzig groups released

DreamHack have released the groups for the upcoming $100,000 Leipzig tournament, which will take place from January 22-24.

DreamHack ZOWIE Open Leipzig will see a similar group A to one we've seen this last weekend at SL i-League StarSeries XIV Finals, as it features Na`Vi, Luminosity, and G2 once again, this time joined by SK Gaming.

Group B, on the other hand, has Question Mark going up against Virtus.pro, mousesports, and their Danish comrades from dignitas.

The teams have been distributed into groups according to their seeding. The initial round and winners' matches will all be played in best-of-ones, but elimination and decider matches will feature best-of-threes.

You kidding? Every single time Navi faced LG they won dramatically, and their last encounter they got beaten 2-0. I think they have easier time with TQM.

navi - LG has to be the closest matchup we have right now. the average score is 15.36 - 12.91, thats an average of 28.27 rounds per map. in contrast, a matchup like tsm - fnatic in 2015 was 14.08 - 13 with an average of 27.08 rounds per map. or for example envy - navi is 14.13 - 13.52 with an average of 27.65 rounds per map. although navi do generally beat them, it always is very close and can go either way. even when they were on like an 8 map win streak against them they were always winning it 16-13, 19-17, etc.

if we take the hltv ranking and give each team a value, 1st place being 20 points, 2nd 19, etc then both groups are worth 49 points. seems like pretty fair groups to me. in fact id say navi have the harder group considering they have two other teams from top10 with them, so in theory they could even fail to get out of groups whereas for vp and tqm theres only 1 other top10 team in there and the chances of them losing to non-top10 teams are fairly low. (navi 19, LG 15, G2 13, SK 2 - tqm 17, vp 16, mouz 9 dignitas 7)

+1 I think it's a great mixture of teams. G2 & LG are some very exciting teams to watch and we got 3 top5 teams in the world in there aswell + dignitas, sk & mousesports which will be interesting to watch how they compete versus the best in the world on lan, and they aren't that far behind, so upsets could happen from the underdogs if every team is not prepared.
