TyLoo disqualified from Asia Minor

With only an hour or so until their Group B opening game, TyLoo have been disqualified from the Asia Minor due to it being uncovered that Quanqing 'qz' Wu had a previous Valve Anti-Cheat ban on his record.

A recent post on the Global Offensive subreddit hearkened back to an earlier HLTV.org forum post in 2014 that saw a user uncover that TyLoo's Quanqing "⁠qz⁠" Wu had been VAC banned only a day after the MSI Beat It! finals in China in 2013 (qz was playing for Chinese team nFace at the time).

qz then tried to hide the fact by renaming his old Steam profile to several Korean aliases, but a further parsing of old demos from the community saw [pqz]'s in-game name link back to the profile in question, providing quite compelling evidence of a direct link.

The reminder on Reddit caught the attention of ESL employees who conducted an internal investigation and have now announced that qz is ineligible to play in current and future Valve events. ESL also confirmed that Valve were made aware and corroborated the evidence.

It was found out that qz received a VAC Ban in 2013

As a result of the disqualification, the winner of the Renegades vs. Eat You Alive match will move on the play TheMongolz in an automatic Group B winners' match and a decider match will be played afterwards.

In addition, qz has apparently been banned from any future ESL Pro competitions, i.e. IEM, ESL One, or the Pro League. TyLoo will be allowed to take part in these leagues as long as they do not use qz as their fifth.

TyLoo are disqualified from #IEM Taipei due to one of the players being found ineligible to play in any current and future Valve events.

VAC is useless. It's similar to using sand paper as toilet paper. Sure it has paper in the name, and usually consists of being in "rolls", but would you still enjoy using it if you had to? Love how it takes 3 years for Valve to ban/do anything to cheaters hahahaha. If they have all this information about him cheating, why was he not banned when he was cheating the first day? Database doesn't hold that information?

Here is why this issue is not-satisfactory: 1.ESL did not bother to check on players eligibility during qualifiers (instead some random reddit user found out on the isssue by Google search) 2.Tells the team 1 hour prior to their match that they are disqualified if these 2 points have been clarified , TyLoo would have used someone else (most likely Attacker their best buddy, who is a legit top 5 player in China) to play the qualifiers and TyLoo would still make it to this IEM

Absolutely ridiculous. That valve can keep getting away with their amateur development and decision-making saddens me, and i fear it could ruin csgo. And this shit hits one of the best and promising chinese teams, just as asian csgo scene is starting to make an impact.

Tyloo the organization should take this consequence on their own. Sorry for the other tyloo players though. ESL is quite disgraceful that they didn't discover qz was VAC banned back in 2013 and they made this heartbreaking decision. In 2013, qz's VAC ban was well known in China, but after that nobody gives a flying fuck and let qz keep playing the pro scene, pretending nothing happened before. Tyloo take this risk and let qz play under their organization. Chiefs had a VAC ban player too but they changed their roster before asia minor qualifier while qz was playing in this qualifier. It's unfair to those china teams beated by Tyloo in qualifier. That's why tyloo are unable to stay in this event. Remember that when KQLY received VAC ban, Titan were kicked out from DHW 2014. Don't blame the people who unveiled the truth of qz's VAC ban, Tyloo need to undertake the whole lesson and bounce back. I sincerely hope that Tyloo will rise again. GL! #csgo2asia

How will TyLoo or the Chinese scene bounce back now? There are no longer any big international qualifiers or events to go to now that CyberZen lost to Renegades All I know is that this decision made by ESL within an hour has fucked the Chinese scene and perhaps the Asian scene big time. LIKE BIG TIME. what are they supposed to do for 6 months or more other than playing small Asian online tournaments or small Chinese LANS. GG ESL's inability to verify players eligibility has done China in. TyLoo were better than CyberZen

+1, it's just so fucking ridiculous, their work was to get the event running and making sure that every player is legit should be the top priority, but nah, they rather rely on some random reddit user to discover that random VAC ban (3 years ago, lol) and then disqualify the team 1 hour before the game. Really nice work from the shitty staff responsible for this event, they should be fired. These guys not only fucked up their job, they also fucked up Valve trying to get CS:GO popular in China.

awkward to disqualify them when they got to the fucking event, why didnt they do a background check like weeks/months before the tourney, its kinda stupid that they travel and get there and start to hype up, then volvo comes in and says:" You guys are disqualified". *clapclap* bravo.
