DreamHack Skellefteå II preview

The second DreamHack Skellefteå this year is just hours away from the grand opening. The arctic event will house the finals for the Swedish WCG qualifier and their very own 100.000 SEK tournament.

DreamHack will in a few hours open their second event this year in the city of Skellefteå. Skellefteå is located in Northern part of Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle. The city itself has approximately 35.500 inhabitants and is the seat of Skellefteå Municipality, which house more than 73.000 inhabitants. The Goldtown will for the second time this year be housing hundreds of gamers attending DreamHack Skellefteå.

DreamHack has secured a 2 GBit fiber from Telia, for the LAN attendees to play around with. The event itself will house several things. With the esport goggles on, the finals at WCG and DreamHack’s very own 100.000 SEK (10.327 €) tournament would be the most interesting, but there is loads of other activities for the LAN attendees to attend. The event will be the last event before the October madness of events will set off.

DreamHack Skellefteå will be a showdown of the Swedish elite. Who will qualify for World Cyber Games and who will take home the gold in the 100.000 SEK tournament? SK Gaming is attending their first event since they replace SpawN with zet, can zet still cope with Counter-Strike 1.6 at high level? The rivalry between fnatic and SK Gaming will continue as it will probably be a showdown of the two, who will qualify for World Cyber Games, is it SK Gamings’ time to beat fnatic or is fnatic still going strong?

The 100.000 SEK tournament will start with a group stage, consisting of five groups, with each 5 teams in each. Only first placing team in each team will advance to the playoffs where fnatic, SK Gaming, Blank and more wait. WCG will arrange a drop-in qualifier before kicking off the final qualifier for WCG Sweden.

HLTV.org is in the Goldtown of Skellefteå and will have a solid grip on the pulse during the entire event. Providing you with our usual unique coverage, DreamHack Skellefteå will most certainly be worth following.

Matches should start today at 18:00, group stage. (not sure cause not very good at Swedish) DH isn't my favorite event but there will be some interesting matches. Can't wait for all October Challenges of Extreme Masters and the big WCG. GL to all teams.

It will be interesting to see zet play against some "real" teams (without meaning to disrespect the previous one he faced/played). Pd: Nix0n remember your secondary mission, ¡¡¡that Le1a pic!!! xD Greetz Fanny! :D

Traditionally WCG Swedish Qualifier has provided me with amazing games. I still remember that final when NiP made an incredible comeback against SK on train. Imo this qualifier final could have higher level of counter-strike than the real WCG Final.
