TyLoo & qz issue statement

TyLoo, who were infamously disqualified from the Asia Minor after it was discovered that teammate Quanqing 'qz' Wu had a VAC ban from 2013, have issued a statement regarding the disqualification and including Wu's own explanation.

The news that TyLoo had been disqualified at the last minute (with only an hour or so before their opening match) came as a shock to many as an investigation from community members ultimately revealed that player Quanqing "qz" Wu held a VAC Ban from 2013 (shortly after playing at the MSI Beat It! Finals).

In a statement posted in Chinese, both the TyLoo organisation and qz have expressed some comments and thoughts on the disqualification as well as the nature of the VAC Ban.

qz defends himself in his statement on the situation

Following an apology to fans, the TyLoo statement mentions that "all four players and the management" knew of qz's previous VAC ban on his older account but did not know it could be a reason for disqualification.

TyLoo also mention that they will not remove qz until the matter is properly investigated, although it is unclear if they are calling on Valve to look deeper into it or referring to an internal investigation.

qz's statement can be found below and in it he discusses how account sharing in CS:GO was popular back when the game came out as players in China could not use popular Chinese payment platforms such as Alipay to buy the game.

The result of the VAC Ban therefore came about from a friend sharing his account:

"Hello guys, I'm qz from TyLoo. Because my account which I used in MSI got VAC banned 3 years ago, our team couldn't play in  IEM Taipei. I want to say sorry to my teammates and to our club, I did burden you all. But I want to say something about my VAC ban and explain it in detail.

Although, since the account got VAC banned almost 3 years ago, I can't remember the exact details. I will say something about it from memory. In 2013, CS:GO was not popular in China like now, we can't use CNY and alipay to buy it. At that time, some accounts were shared; I played on another guy's account.

Unfortunately,I used that account to play the MSI matches. That day, I suddenly found out that others logged onto that account at the qualifier, and the password had been changed. So I used another account to continue playing the match. When i finished my match, I tried to contact my friend to find the password, but he ignored me. I thought that maybe some other guys were using the account to play on it, so I kept using the second one.

After the Grand final I found out the first account got VAC banned. I was really woried about it, wondering how I got VAC'd and how could I save my skins! I tried to trade, but the VAC ban locked the items so I asked my friend to help me, but he never answered. A few days later, when I opened the VAC'd account's inventory, I found all the skins gone, unless Valve somehow got those skins. How could the other guys get these skins?

I can promise that I haven't cheated in matches, but I don't konw whether that account used cheats from others. From my heart, I have a clear conscience. I am delighted that my teammates and the club believe me, and that's enough for me!"

The extent to which Valve investigated the ban is unknown although it further calls to question recent discussions about the need to look into associated account bans of various players that have kept them from competing at Valve events, such as E-frag.net's Simeon "dream3r" Ganev.

actually his version of account sharing sounds a lot more believable then the "but muh frends dog haxed"-shit or the "but muh accunt wus stolen and i didnt even play on it when it was banned, is this because we are bulgarian?"-bullshit

+1. This is china not europe. Not long ago, every chinese didn't have the opportunity to actually buy the game. The way to somehow prove it would be to track down the skins that disappeared. Can probably be traced to someone completely different. that couldn't have actually played the official match. Proving that he used a shared account. Doesn't prove 100% he didn't cheat at any point but it would certainly testify in his favor.

Not villiG hltv.org/news/15863-villig-admits-to-che.. he straight up said he did, so have a couple others. Some have actually been cleared saying what qz is saying. The main idea at this point, dont share your account. Thats just dumb, but I can understand why qz might have. Everybody is pretty quick to shit on him though without knowing one hundred percent whether he is telling the truth. I really dug their lineup so this pretty much sucks for me.

I don't have a link to the video but it was a video showing a guy go on the computer right after Dream3r went off it for like a couple minutes than the guy leaves and Dream3r comes back to the pc not knowing what just happened the internet cafe camera caught everything and he posted it I just don't have a link to it, compared to the bullshit these other kids say after they get vacced seemed like decent evidence at the time but Valve didn't buy it.

yes it was removed, but it clearly says it all in the description. "internet cafe that Salecha visited on May 17, prior to his team's match (which was played at a different location). At one point, the player leaves the computer unattended as he goes outside to make a phone call. Some minutes later (at 2:21 PM in the video), an unknown man comes in and uses the computer for a few moments." But since you are a retarded kid you can't read, and yeah i am the stupid one because you can't read, now let's go back to your retardness, please show me the video you talking about or atleast an article that talks about your statement. Jesus just get cancer idiot, next time don't talk unless you got no proofs about it, trashcan. P.S: change ur flag cuz ur prolly a retarded russian

Flusha has never got banned, none of his accounts are banned, he's never been over watched banned, he plays on all the anti cheat systems atm esea, cevo, faceit, esl, valve anti cheat, he's had his demos reviewed by Valve, he's had admins in the booth with him watching him as he plays nothing has ever been detected so that's probably why he never made a statement about something that never happened.

Rofl. Valve only didn't ban him and made other cliebts not to, is because he is playing on a t1 team that already won a major before he joined. If flusha gets banned the whole pro-scene would be seen as a joke and no one will take it seriously anymore.

To many silvers watching pro play these days everyone gets accused it doesn't even bother me anyone I don't even click those threads anymore if you were ever even decent at this game a silver accused you of cheating. Someone who can't even understand the basics of CS called you a cheater at some point, he went out of his way to make shitty .gif of a 16 bit demo out of hundreds of your games to find that one play that looks "kind of" suspicious and kept telling himself over and over this is evidence, why is valve not listening this is confirmed HLTV .gif evidence.

The price money is nothing in comparison with the sticker money. Just look at cologne, $4.2 million was given out to the teams and players. The price money means like nothing in the majors.

its true, account sharing is very common in the early days of people playing CS GO in China to be honest , the damage is already done by ESL. 1)disqualifying TyLoo after 1 hour of "investigation" 2)Not allowing TyLoo players to even speak to them of what actually happened on that account at the venue. hey guys you are disqualified now get out of here is what happened to TyLoo at the venue 3)ESL Carmac making jokes and having a good laugh on Reddit after ending a players career And players like k0nfig who had his other accounts VAC but is still allowed to play pro CS GO is this happens because we are from China? for real can't help but feel that way

I don't think it's just because you are from China, I think it's clear that Valve is equally incompetent for everyone. If qz is telling the truth though, I think it's kinda irresponsible to be using someone else's account if you're a pro. The same thing happened with Dreamer, he did something stupid (leaving account open in public) and now we will never know if he's guilty or not.

Valve didn't investigate shit. ESL only read a Reddit post and drew their conclusions from that. This is the kind of space where we need extreme professionalism, not in the form of talent on screen, but to handle cases like these. It's a disgrace.

How illogical is that? I mean either they're waiting for a Valve investigation and in this case they don't need to make a statement until the investigation is over, or either they're HOPING for a Valve investigation and in this case saying that they support the player is not a smart move at all. Oh well, they'll deal with it eventually I suppose.

It sounds pretty real and sincere, so he is probably telling the truth. ALTHOUGH, if you're stupid enough to use a shared account with a friend that you can't trust to a 100% and you use that account at an MSI tournament/qualifier, then you my friend deserve to get banned for your stupidity. PROFESSIONALISM people, LEARN IT!

Sure. He thought he could cheat and nothing would ever happen right? He should never be able to play any valve event again. Why is everybody 100% OK with KQLY being prohibited to play in valve events because he received a VAC ban, and now that qz got exposed he is innocent, pure and a nice guy? Fuck him, he cheated and he has to pay.

That account sharing sound pretty believable if it was hard to purchase csgo in China at that time. Nowadays it would be insane for pros to share accounts considering that you get personally permanently banned for cheating. At that time he wouldn't probably taken into consideration that he could be personally banned because he used a shared account.

Btw that guy was 22 at the time hmmm i am one year older than him sharing accounts is a pain in the ass because when someone logs in your steam it disconnects you ingame you don't want to have that while you play a serious match. Pros aren't playing competitive since cs go days. Gaming sites such as ESL don't allow you to change steam ids every week, it's like every 6 months or so. It's not well viewed if you are a guy with multi accounts it makes you smell like a cheater.

Chinese players been pirating since 1.6 days because they play on LAN as back then internet hasn't taken off in China. So it was all LAN party. I bought CSGO in 2012, it was on sales for US$15? That's chinese money RMB$120 in 2012. 100+ is a lot of money for when typical salary back then was about RMB$500 a month even in cities. A big commitment. Sharing account seems the logical. So yea, it is believable story.

I did some research but could only find average incomes, but I did find this chart that (I think) shows typical income rather than average income. clb.org.hk/en/sites/default/files/Image/.. We can probably assume that qz gets between the low urban income and the middle urban income, so he's probably in the low-middle urban income group, giving him what looks like 22,500 yuan of net income in 2013 (shitty chart). That gets you 1,875 per month. So that is much higher than 500, even when adjusted for economic growth between 2012 and 2013. Then take into account that, although csgo would have cost approx 95 yuan, it seems that according to qz's statement it was hard to buy csgo legally so the price would have been higher. Then account for other expenditures such as bills (not sure if bills are counted in net income, probably not?) food, clothes, services, other hobbies, and you'll quickly find that qz didn't have much money to spend on the game Counter-Strike Global Offensive. (though apparently he had enough to buy skins :?)

Well Toasty, Pros hardly purchase skins. There are a lot of players who willing to give them skins, especially in China. I don't know if you ever heard about Alex'44, he was 2 times World Champion of CS1.6, one of the best IGLs in 1.6 era, master mind and well feared by other teams and pros. When he came out of retirement and say he will Stream CSGO, he said, who ever have skins that they don't want, they can give it to him, he don't care if they are red level or gray level, he don't care if they are FN of BS, he will take them all. The second day, he received a StatTrek FN AK47 CaseHardened. Just trying to make a point.

In 2012 hourly salary of a factory worker in major cities in China is US$1.40. You can work you ass off and get RMB400/month unless you do a lot of overtime. I know office workers get more, maybe x2 or x4 depending on skill set. But given QZ age at that time, I suspect his salary to be on lower side. And I know all this details because I traveled to China extensively for business dealings few years back.

We aren't talking about piracy here we are talking about a bought game being shared. The price of that game is nothing compared to the investment for a pc rig to play cs go or you invest into a cheap 2nd rig or cheap new rig but it would still cost way more than your game. I don't know the history of this player do you know in what teams he was before cs go ? he played for tyloo in cs 1.6 or ? For sure you have a point if he didn't have enough money that is. For me it sounds all weird because we play everything on the internet since 2003 and before that date. If you play on the internet you can forget about it to play a steam being shared, let's not forget he registers with his steam id on all gaming sites for cups etc... and other users could too which is quite stupid to think at.

Alright Zapper, I logged just to reply you. People talked about Piracy is because 90% of the games Chinese people played before 2013 were piracy games, including Warcraft, which host DotA, and ofcourse CS1.6. Chinese people did not have the practice to PURCHASE games, they normally just go download them, I mean, it is not illegal in China. Plus the fact that CSS was almost impossible to crack, credits goes to Valve, so all the 1.6 players chose to stay playing 1.6. 2013 is a weird ass year if you are familiar with CS1.6 and CSGO history. 2012 was the last year Valve will held CS1.6 events, but lots of players believes that if there were still a tons of players who stayed play CS1.6, Valve will have to dump CSGO and get back into CS1.6 events. Hell, they did it once before already, when CSSource came out. WCG went back to 1.6 and stayed healthy while CPL stayed on CSSource and quickly fall out of favor. After that, CS was the E-Sport that Chinese people achieved the most before 2009, wNv.gaming won the World Champion in WEG, beating all the top teams, and even have an de_Nuke A bomb site Execute named after them. But Dota and Dota2 were the favorites in 2013, especially iG won the Internationals in 2012. CS was not in favor at all, so none of the players were payed well. They weren't payed well anyway, since E-Sport player was never a legit job that admitted by the Chinese Social Norm. QZ might just see a tournament that could potentially win him some money and get familiar with the competitive CSGO, so he just borrowed an account. This is very possible. Chinese people didn't have Steam back then, CS1.6 doesn't need steam since Chinese players only plays in LAN mode, and Perfect World has control on Dota2. So you can see, Steam was not essential before CSGO. Of course, all of this adds up if and only if QZ is telling the truth.

Where is the proof that it was for fun? It could as easy been been used for something wrong. If you an upcoming star semi/pro and use hax for "fun" you already know the consequences of your action, and let alone well knowingly from other historic threads involving the same subject.

For fuck sake Valve it was a 3 year old ban, back when like 4 people in the world actually played CSGO. Honestly, its like they fucking hate CSGO. First introducing the worst updates that ruined almost every aspect of the game, then perma banning the IBP players, and then now this. Valve needs to just let the scene grow.

Whats wrong with their updates? I mean first nerfing the awp, which people got used to but I dont think anyone thought it was a good update. It ruined some awpers like KennyS and JW, and it lowered the skill ceiling for the awp because now you dont need good movement. The R8 revolved update was probably the worst in the history of games. period. it completely broke the game and it was so bad most tournament providers chose to ignore the update and play on an older version. Not to mention the m4a1s nerf, which was handled poorly imo. As for the IBP bans, there were some vietnamese players who match fixed and got banned for only 1 year. So all i'm saying is that Valve should be consistent throughout their bans.
